Two child molesters at a time ?, Jonathan Watson, 41, admitted to the killings in a letter to the Bay Area News Group in Northern California. Watson said he snapped and killed these men on January 16 at the State Prison in Corcoran, just hours after he warned a counselor that he may become violent, but was reportedly ignored.
He then battered 48-year-old David Bobb and 62-year-old Graham De Luis-Conti with the cane.
The attack took place at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Corcoran, California.
He said he believed the child molester was taunting him by watching children’s television program, writing in the letter that he could not sleep at not ‘having not done what every instinct told I should’ve done right then and there.’ Watson said he told a prison counselor that he needed to be transferred to higher-level security ‘before i really fucked one of these dudes up,’ but the counselor ‘scoffed and dismissed’ him, he wrote.‘I was mulling it all over when along came Molester #1 and he put his TV right on PBS Kids again,’ he said. But this time, someone else said something to the effect of “Is this guy really going to watch this right in front of us?” and I recall saying, “I got this.” And I picked up the cane and went to work on him.’
He said he left the unit to find a guard and turn himself in, but then he saw another ‘known child trafficker’ on his way.
‘I figured I’d just do everybody a favor. In for a penny, in for a pound,’ he wrote. Watson then told a guard, who he said did not believe him ‘until he looked around the corner and saw the mess I left in the dorm area.’ He has since been moved to segregated housing. He is being investigated for the killings, but he has not been charged yet. ‘Being a lifer, I’m in a unique position where I sometimes have access to these people and I have so little to lose.And trust me, we get it, these people are every parents’ worst nightmare.’
