Why did Congress make it harder for the US to leave NATO? Two years ago, they passed a law that will require a 2/3 majority vote to leave it. What are the odds that some of that $200+ billion a year we send NATO finds its way back into Washington DC pockets?

This line from Axios this morning is why I sometimes give up on inside-the-beltway journalism: “‘The president is the most bloodthirsty, like a mad dog,’ another U.S. official said.” US official? That could be Bernie Sanders. Or Melania. Or an intern at the Department of Agriculture. The press gives away anonymity like a good neighbor on Halloween gives up candy. This is a meaningless quote unless we are told who said it. It brings no value to good reporting.
