Can any other car brand, besides Tesla, back out of a tight long curved dead end, in the first try, with cars all around? FSD Supervised is amazing! I can no longer buy any other car without FSD! FSD Unsupervised is coming!!

Cofounder of @NuroAi_Official A is making an AI that can drive vehicles, was winning me over through demonstrations of his more flexible AI than Tesla has demonstrated. Drove in left-hand Japan with no prior training on such. Learned by decomposing the road into all of its parts. So figured out that you needed to drive in the left instantly. But then he said LiDAR is demonstrating itself to be safer. So I stuck up my hand and asked for a situation where LiDAR and camera is safer than camera only approaches, which his company sells too. “A child all in black at night, particularly around a corner.” So tonight after I drove my friend home at 2:30 a.m. I studied this in deep detail in my wife’s Model Y with hardware 4 and Tesla Self Driving controlling the car. 1. Cameras can see far more than humans can at night. 2. Modern cars come with matrix headlights. Which go around the turn and illuminate anywhere a car can turn. 3. Every intersection has a light on almost every intersection. Where there is none why would a child in black be playing on the street in the dark. 4. Tesla has a “zoomed in” telephoto camera as one of the cameras under the windshield so it can actually see ahead far better than a human can. Plus the other night this car drove around a clump of dirt and rocks on the road at 50 mph. I didn’t even see it until the car had already quickly turned around it. I give you his speech here. But you gotta come up with better examples of why a car company needs to spend “low thousands” (his quote, not mine) per car more on LiDARs than that.

It’s extremely horrifying that a member of the police who’s sworn to keep the public safe is just casually hitting children. He may need to learn some manners but that’s a job for his parents, if he’s made a mistake he shouldn’t be hit for it. Just because a kid is using a word you don’t like doesn’t mean you should hit him.

@CesarRoqueC @Scobleizer @NuroAi_Official Help me to make sense of what you are saying. I am telling that cameras ARE great, but Lidar + cameras are better and more redundant. It's simple. 4 breaks is better than 2 breaks. 10 airbags are better than 4 airbags.

@garyblack00 Worst is behind for $Rivn. They won’t sell now, @RJScaringe has price targets tied to his new package between $40-$140 and he clearly sees a path to that. At that point they’ll be too big to be acquired

This is not the only reason to own $RIVN, but I believe either $VOW, one of the big 3 or $GOOG or $AMZN will ultimately acquire $RIVN to expand their presence in both EVs and full autonomy. Market cap is still under $20B and the incremental TAM potential associated with extending the brand into the $50K R2 segment from the $80K R1 segment is HUGE.

It’s feeling very likely to me no one’s HW4 vehicle will get unsupervised FSD. You’ll need sprayers for cameras and I highly doubt retrofits will be offered.

@NeilRDunn Your Kia does not drive itself. Lane assist and cruise control isn’t self driving. My model Y can go for over 2.5 to 3 hours without having to stop to charge. And I’m never holding my bladder, I’m not in a rush.

$RIVN $TSLA: Tesla influencers are mad again because this time Rivian signed a deal with Uber. They did the same when Rivian signed a deal with VW. The reason they are mad is because for years Elon promised them these things. Everyone was going to license software and FSD from Tesla. Fast forward to today and Rivian is doing exactly that. That maybe true for any manufacturer other than Tesla. At scale Zoox will be more expensive to make. They won’t be making millions of vehicles/year… Ever heard of economies of scale? It doesn’t work as well with only a few thousand vehicles per year. Even Rivians deal with uber is only 50k cars for half a decade…

The windshield doesn't come up very high. You sit way too far back, so clearly this is not designed to be a driven vehicle. I thought maybe the early ones would ship with a steering wheel. You're not driving this thing with A-pillars like that."

They serve different purposes. Zoox is more comparable to the Robovan. For a bigger party or multiple users that share the space. Not a personal taxi. It also isn’t as comfortable, it’s more like riding public transportation. Not a premium private taxi. You can play your music/videos in a CC but not in a Zoox. It also doesn’t look as safe. Too much glass. Just not a good comparison at all. Majority of rides are also 2 passengers or less. So it makes more sense.

Rivian is a promise of a product… If Rivian’s UHF was as good as FSD, then it’d be different. Right now Uber is the most desperate, so they’ll partner will partner with anyone. Rivian x Uber deal isn’t an exclusive partnership. So it’s nothing special. Don’t forget Uber has been desperately trying to partner with Tesla…………….
