Turns out the gang of migrants who tortured and raped the 12-year-old Anna, and were fully acquitted,had a second victim.

In the US, there are 14 million children who face food insecurity. That kind of childhood changes a person.
They will grow up in bad public schools around others who live in scarcity. Many will steal out of hunger. Be abused by peers or parents who grew up this way.
The temptations in their teens are much more challenging to avoid and have worse repercussion.
By the time they are adults, they are in such a different shape than a child who never knew these things. Kids like that don't go to college as often. The jobs on offer pay nothing.
There is a reason it is a cycle. When do they become guilty to you? When do you start blaming the kid who was picked to lose for losing?
