Identity as Infrastructure. Identity is no longer a feature of advertising, it’s infrastructure. Roads enable commerce and electricity powers cities, identity makes modern marketing actually work.

If you have not yet read @auren's email newsletter today titled "how to ask for advice (without wasting everyone's time)", you should. it is excellent reading - for the asker and giver. Thanks Auren!

@dollarsanddata Agreed. Basically no young person knows what to do on their own but those who are around people with some economic success are able to guide the next generation as they’re starting out.

A lot of this comes down to poorer kids just not knowing what to do. I didn't know that I had to apply for an internship in the WINTER of my sophomore year to get a sophomore summer internship to leverage into a junior summer internship to get a full-time offer senior year.

Even after graduating from university, people who grew up in poverty face significant pay gaps when compared with their more affluent peers. @annastansbury explains 👇

I'm monitoring the situation and am currently in 6th place with a net worth of $1.62M. I just "invested in diamonds" and am up +61.6% on the day. See if you can beat me: thesituationgame.com/?ref=dad495f9

I’ve been interviewing vp of sales candidates for a couple of Sequoia portfolio companies recently. It is remarkable how little enterprise selling has change in 30 years.

@KreizJordy @sama Yes, Google and Meta are much of modern day internet. But, the majority of ad revenue comes from small business who wants a native tool. Plus those 2 ad products were launched decades ago. So OpenAI is thinking deeply about much larger choices while doing ads in the background.

@CoryDavis321 @sama If they don’t build their own and instead rely on a 3P DSP, then yes it’s one of the biggest misses. Ads helped fund the modern day internet - $GOOG search & youtube, $META ads, $AMZN commerce/sponsored products. OpenAI / AI search has potential to own much of this activity.

@sama partnering with a DSP instead of developing an ads platform UI will actually be one of the biggest misses for OpenAI. (You could even vibe code it and see adoption) Give me a buzz if you want to discuss how to do this. Seriously.

@scottbelsky Spot on. Giant org charts are a liability at best and fatal at worst. Tech has turned small teams into force multipliers. Coordination costs are an immense liability. Every employee adds drag, communication overhead and decision latency. The modern flex is precision.

the size of a public ceo’s workforce is shifting from being a flex if large to a flex if small. the next few years of refactoring will be significant (and seat-based models will shift to value-based), but I also think there will be 10x more companies, and far more ambition within companies in the form of more specialized products and services. when society and markets get more ROI on each person, we deploy more people…just less as middle managers and cogs for productivity, and more as builders who own and can directly impact an actual metric.

We’re closing out 2025 with another strong quarter, exceeding the high end of our guidance across key metrics. We repurchased $254M of shares this year, reducing our share count by 18%, while continuing to invest heavily in our AI-driven future. But this year was about more than beating the numbers. 2025 validated what we’ve believed for a long time: performance advertising doesn’t begin and end with Search and Social. There is a massive opportunity across the open web, and when powered by AI and proprietary intent data, it works. Advertisers are seeing strong outcomes. Retention is up. Budgets are growing. Our deep distribution, exclusive publisher relationships, and intent signals are becoming structural advantages in an AI-first world. We’re building the monetization layer for the open web, a leading performance platform beyond Search and Social. Thank you to our partners and Taboolars who are making it happen. The best part of our story is still ahead cc @taboola Read more at: investors.taboola.com

BREAKING: @The_ADSN's very own @JamesBorow has been named General Manager of @comcast's @Universal_Ads. Big news for advertisers that want more efficient, more performant TV advertising at their finger tips. Arbitrage reliant CTV ad tech middlemen are said to be livid with the choice. Congratulations James Borow 🪐!

@danpantelo Yes, feels like the profile for this is an ambitious early career person though. I’d be looking through the group who has been cold emailing you looking to get into marpipe as this is their chance. No experience necessary for the right person.

Hiring for a Head of Enterprise Accounts role in NYC ($200k + equity) Ideal person has experience 1) strategically dealing with CMOs all day 2) running performance campaigns (meta, google, etc) $4,000 referral check if you intro me to this person - need to fill the seat quickly

@danpantelo Got it. A different way 2 frame the role could be to have someone lead on ~ $300K MRR. The biggest clients would have a team covering w/ u leading so gathering a basket of midsized spend would help someone build process + understand offering without risk on the largest dollars.

@CoryDavis321 The $1,499/month is our lowest price tier - that's only for 1 - 1,000 SKUs The bigger the brands catalog, the more they pay us - scales up to $35k/mo
