We’re pleased to announce that @BrucePon, Founder of @OceanProtocol, has joined FNC𝝣 as our newest board member! 🎉 Bruce brings decades of expertise in data, decentralized infrastructure, and finance to guide the next chapter of LUKSO’s growth. 🔗 @lukso/foundation-for-new-creative-economies-welcomes-brucepon-8c4f9a870e6d" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@lukso/foundat…

As much as I want to stay open, but it gets a little ridiculous by now. You almost have copied every wording from our whitepaper from 2019 and our naming conventions from @lukso_io and @ERC725Account. The only thing you haven't copied is to tech. And that one is standardized and open source. At least this one you should copy properly 😉 Because none of the words will do the job, if you built it on an old stack. Because the new stack it’s what eventually will make all the difference. Hybrid cars are on the end, not real electric cars as much as they want to be 😉

There is an exceptional amount of philosophical wisdom hidden in the way Universal Profiles were built. At first glance, they seem like just another blockchain innovation, a new way to manage digital identity and ownership. However, the deeper I go, the more I realize that they redefine the very essence of creativity, ownership, and collaboration. The concept of the "New Creative Economy" is not just a slogan; it is a complete shift that redefines the way we interact with digital assets, communities, and even our own creative potential. A while ago, I thought I had a grasp on what Universal Profiles were and the implications they carried. I believed I understood the core of their purpose and the benefits they brought. But not long after, I found myself completely revising my stance. The more I explored, the more I encountered new insights that challenged my previous assumptions. Each new realization reshaped my understanding, leading me to see the immense depth of what was unfolding right before my own eyes. Every step forward reinforced my comprehension, making the broader picture clearer. What began as a surface-level understanding slowly transformed into an appreciation of the intricate layers within the Universal Profiles ecosystem. The most astonishing part of this entire journey is how everything connects, how the puzzle pieces continuously align to form a greater whole. The deeper I dig, the more I see how decentralization is not just about removing intermediaries but about removing mental limitations imposed by centralized systems. One of the most difficult aspects to articulate is the realization that centralization does not only restrict our actions. It fundamentally limits our ability to think creatively. It’s not just about control over assets, data, or governance. It’s about control over how we perceive possibilities. We have been conditioned to operate within imposed limitations, to see only what we are permitted to see. Even those who consider themselves open to decentralization often struggle to break free from deeply ingrained assumptions about structure, authority, and ownership. It is only when you truly start to understand the depth of decentralization that you realize how profoundly it extends beyond mere technology. Decentralization is not just an infrastructure, it is a mental framework, a way of seeing. The more I explore, the more I realize that they are not simply a tool for digital identity. They rip apart the old digital framework and demand a new way of thinking. Over time, I even began to suspect that this entire space is acutely aware of what LUKSO is doing. Those who benefit from limitation, whether it be financial institutions, tech monopolies, or creative industry gatekeepers, understand that Universal Profiles represent something fundamentally disruptive because most of Web3 today is still Web2 in disguise. The problem isn’t just external resistance. Decentralization itself is being reshaped into something palatable for existing power structures. Many so-called Web3 projects are not truly decentralized, but centralized platforms with blockchain buzzwords sprinkled in. They replicate Web2’s control structures under a new name. That’s why LUKSO feels so different. It wasn’t designed to fit into the existing framework, it was designed to replace it. And that’s exactly why the forces benefiting from control would rather ignore LUKSO than acknowledge it. Because decentralization, in its truest form, is not just a shift in technology. It’s a psychological revolution. This brings me to something that has been frustrating me about how we, as a community, approach Universal Profiles and the larger vision of this ecosystem. Every time we focus on demanding things from those building this revolution, every time we critique how this technology should be marketed or insist on certain strategies, we are acting in direct contradiction to everything we claim to be fighting for. I have come to see Universal Profiles and the space they inhabit as an unexplored, pitch-dark territory. Most people here are either afraid to step off predefined paths because they have never known anything else or they are here for different reasons. If you want to contribute to this space, you do not do so by turning towards those who are building the compass to explore this uncharted world. Doing so is like throwing extra weight onto the back of a mountain climber, jumping onto them mid-ascent, and yelling in their ear that they need to climb faster or that they might lose their position in this race. What we fail to realize is that in doing so, we become the very illusion that needs to be shattered. If nobody steps back and realizes that we can remove ourselves from the climber’s back, that we can lighten their burden instead of adding to it, we will still reach the summit. But by doing so, you are making the journey far more grueling than necessary. Too many people in Web3 still act like users, not builders. Waiting for someone else to show them the way. That’s a nasty Web2 mindset. If you’re waiting for permission, you’ve already lost. You don’t need to be a developer. I’m not a developer either. I’m an artist. One with an immense drive to actually try and use what's handed to us over here, because I'm willing to believe. At one point you will get it. A year ago, I had no "technical advantage" over anyone. I didn’t have "insider knowledge" or a background in blockchain. I didn’t need to, because decentralization is not about what you know, it’s about how willing you are to explore. That's it. You don’t need to code to build. You don’t need a roadmap to start moving. You don’t need anyone to give you the green light, you are the green light. Whether you are an artist, writer, musician... when you are willing to learn and leverage the immense power of Universal Profiles and what they offer you will improve on every level you can possibly think off. Use what’s available. If you are waiting for some fancy new feature UE is going to deliver, you are going to be disappointed and you will find yourself in the position of doubt and disbelief time and time again, questioning. Everything is here already, you just need to figure out how to get it out. With that I mean, that for others to get it out at this point, it means a workaround, it means added complexity. If you don’t know where to start, use AI to get you started on how to. Feed it the docs. Use it to learn, to create, to experiment. AI isn’t here to replace your creativity, it’s here to amplify it. Are you actually fighting for decentralization? Do you want to break free? Or are you just waiting for someone else to deliver it to you? Because nobody is coming to save you. Decentralization isn’t a product you start to market and expect it to be bought. It’s not a service you subscribe to. It's not something that holds your hand. Hell, it's not even something you can ask questions expecting you will get a response back. It’s something you build, contribute to, and push forward whether you're a dev, an artist, a writer, or just someone who gives a damn. We're all builders in here. If you’re still waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect tool, the perfect leader to make it all happen, then you’re still trapped in the very system you claim to be breaking away from. The real barrier isn’t the technology. It’s you. #LUKSO $LYX
