@999METHANE Is there any evidence that HART have brought any true value to emergency or terror response in UK? Oz & other countries extend Fire Services or establish true multidis teams, not simply spend a fortune on elitist teams that work in isolation. Cost vs benefit ratio appears v poor

@999METHANE You clearly know lots about this……🙄. They had Fire, USAR and a multidisciplinary enhanced med team….what are HART bringing?? Are they expendables?? There is always risk, assess it, mitigate and manage it.

@999METHANE 14 in our med team, plus fire, plus USAR with 4 casualties -deploying 6 of multidisciplinary medical team into building not unreasonable?!

@PulmCrit 500 liters later, the MAP is still 50, the patient now can’t breathe and needs intubated, the kidneys are so congested they stopped working on the verge of CRRT … but hey the sepsis bundle has been fulfilled 😵‍💫

Tonight I helplessly held the hand of and stroked the hair of a beautiful 14 year old girl as she exited this world. She was looking forward to starting high school and eventually becoming a veterinarian. It was so senseless! I truly believe she could have been saved if her

Heard the characteristic sound of an AW139 helicopter overhead in the middle of the night. Checking Flight Radar 24 from my bed showed it was our retrieval aircraft Rescue 207. It was 1.39 am. An AW139 at 01.39! Imagine my wife’s delight to be woken and informed of this marvel.

Folks. I don’t know what sort of institution you thought you were hacking but the assets of @TheResusRoom are limited to three microphones and a dog. And I know you’re not here for our cognitive abilities
TheResusRoom@TheResusRoom

All good things come to those who wait... The Resus Room was hacked on Thursday, putting a slight stall on the app; but thanks to superb team behind the scenes will be back up, working and even better ASAP! Thanks for all of the messages 👍🏻

ITACTIC is out! Viscoelastic haemostatic assay augmented protocols for major trauma haemorrhage (ITACTIC): a randomized, controlled trial. Thank you to everyone involved - it's hard to exaggerate how much time and work everyone put into this extraordinarily challenging study.

@SpontVentGA Exactly!!! Getting that dose right is the tailoring!!!!!! Way way way too many providers rely on dose per kg and do not take physiology into account

There is a real difference between people who think this is an important question and those that don’t. Spoiler: I much prefer those that don’t think it’s important. Judge people on their abilities and not their prior privileges.

Is there a difference in a doctor from Oxbridge vs from UCL/Imperial? (asking for a friend) In my opinion, they're all fab unis and all produce top class doctors? #medtwitter
