@AlBuffalo2nite Hey chuckles - no one has to attend because it’s not required. For over 100 years it was just published in the papers. All the Constitution says is the president must report once a year. Maybe you should read it before you comment.
English

🚨THIS GOES FOR EVERY PERSON THAT WILL NOT ATTEND THE
🇺🇸STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS🇺🇸
Refusing to attend the State of the Union is not “resistance.”
It is institutional contempt.
The State of the Union is not a campaign rally.
It is not a fundraiser.
It is not a party convention.
It is a constitutional obligation under Article II, Section 3.
The President reports to Congress.
Congress represents the people.
All of the people.
When elected officials boycott that address, they are not snubbing a man.
They are signaling disdain for the office.
They are signaling disregard for procedure.
They are signaling indifference toward the citizens who voted differently than they did.
More than half the country voted one way.
The other half voted another.
The State of the Union is one of the few remaining civic rituals where all branches assemble under one roof. It symbolizes continuity of government. It symbolizes peaceful transfer of power. It symbolizes unity under law even when policy divides us.
Skipping it is not bravery.
It is performative tribalism.
If you were elected to represent your district, your job is to show up.
Show up.
Listen.
Disagree afterward if you must.
Debate on substance.
But absence communicates something else entirely.
It communicates: “I do not recognize the legitimacy of this administration.”
That is a dangerous precedent in a constitutional republic.
If Republicans had done this under a Democrat President, the media would frame it as anti-democratic sabotage.
Consistency matters.
Disagreement is healthy.
Boycott as branding is not leadership.
Public office requires maturity.
Not social media theater.
If you want to amplify it even further, add this closing line:
If you can’t sit in a chamber for one hour and listen to a President you oppose, you are not ready to govern a divided nation.

.@KatiePavlich: Why is the left radicalizing students to leave school when the country has a 54% rate of not being able to read?
BTC: The lowest literacy rates are in red states.
Katie: That's actually not true.
BTC: [accurately lists off the red states with the lowest literacy rates in the US]

@SavageSports_ How many steps do you take in a day? Because 25,000 is going to be your average. Keep an extra pair of socks in a zip lock. Don’t wear a belt that’s metal.

@iJordanMoore I don’t think he’s seen a Twins jersey in 20 years.

@howaboutafresca So will you also keep Brady out on the first ballot? He was the supposed reason for deflategate, right? And if writers having their fee-fees hurt is a discriminating factor, well I have news for you…

Good god @Debenhams customer service is just the worst. Ordered a rise/recliner chair to help with my osteoarthritis. We were delivered a dressing table. Do you think we can get them to reply to the issue? Can we fuck.

@BasedMikeLee Maybe if conservative/republicans weren’t dumbasses, then you’d have teaching jobs 🙄
