I’m now convinced that the biggest winner of the AI race will be Apple. They will acquire Anthropic and put an AI model that can run on ~32GB of RAM in every device. It will be private, local, have perfect memory, access to all of your files and it will cost $0. The real moat was owning the hardware.

What is a sign of very low intelligence?

The industry is betting heavily on post-training RL to unlock ASI — train models to iteratively improve themselves at coding, financial analysis, etc. But here's the problem: if all the code is being written by Claude Code and Codex, you're training on AI-generated outputs. That's a ceiling, not a flywheel. Real breakthroughs will come from novel pre-training architectures — new attention mechanisms, new ways of representing knowledge — not from RL loops on self-generated data. We need new frontiers, not better benchmarks on the current one.
