Ai killed deep learning.

Might sound insensitive but crowdfunding 40m to straighten someone’s leg doesn’t make sense to me. It is not a life threatening condition neither does the straight leg give any form of return or impact his earnings significantly. For example, crowdfunding to give an athlete a leg surgery will save their career and give financial returns. If it was 5 or even 10m, ok. But 40m? Especially in a country like ours where people are going through more severe health problems and need finances, it doesn’t make sense. I don’t even want to go into this their so called miscommunication. Because there’s no way from first contact with the influencers to fund raising to surgery to his return, it wasn’t communicated that the operation was for one leg till today. I no dey wear pampers.

Some people have been contemplating an idea for years, maybe decades. Obsessing, attempting, discarding, agonizing, retrying. Some of these ideas are unpopular, niche, impractical. It amplifies the individual, and for better and sometimes for worse, it always takes you seriously. "Great idea. Splendid. Wow. You're absolutely right." A world of digital wonders awaits us. This world will disproportionally favor the boldest ideas. Software that once seemed impossible will be one hyperlink away. I can't wait to see it.

it's sad that formal education trick people into thinking that "learning" and "doing" must be separate and that to learn something you need to dedicate 20 years full time, and listen people who might have never directly contributed to the economy
