Switzerland🇨🇭 was a remarkable L for me just spent 35 days there for ski season, living in a quaint ski town, driving/training all over from Laax to Lucerne to St Moritz to Lugano to St Gallen It's natural beauty, undeniable. It's society, pristinely organized. Yet it feels like the Truman Show. It's hard to put your finger on it without experiencing it firsthand, but it feels suffocating to exist here. The people are deeply stoic. Kindness and general hospitality hard to come by. The rules are headscratchingly odd. Food bland (but points for the high quality/freshness factor). Wildly expensive. If Spanish culture, Bali, or Brazil feels like a warm hug, Switzerland feels like a cold metal operating table with surgical lights. As an outsider here, you just don't feel "brought in." Yes, to each their own, but not for me.
