As someone who's been EXTREMELY critical of the Iranian regime, so much so I was labeled 'zio' by many, I've always advocated AGAINST regime change through military means The reason is simple: In over 100 years, there's been ZERO successful regime change operations without boots on the ground And we're seeing this play out right now: The Iranian regime's grip on power has strengthened under bombardment, and they've become even more brutal in suppressing dissent If the U.S. conducted a very limited military operation to give Iranians the chance to bring down the regime, then maybe I would have been supportive (assuming the country does not descend into civil war) But seeing Iran get bombed daily, Israel and the region get attacked, U.S. troops die, and the global economy cater... this is not what I envisaged for 2026. @ChristianHeiens This is very accurate. The Republicans were also very old, and completely ruined their chance to bring in the younger millennial, libertarian leaning right in 2012. The party was expected to die of old age, it was all boomer+. The Republican Party would have died without Trump.

For those on the Right who are critical of Trump, you have to understand what the state of this country and of the GOP at large looked like before 2016. Ted Cruz was as far to the Right as one could go. The center of the GOP was Mitt Romney. A large and growing minority of the party's top politicians were openly pushing to give millions of illegal aliens amnesty and citizenship. After 2012, it felt like we would never win another election ever again. Democrats were flirting with Blexas. Ohio and Florida were battlegrounds, and the electoral college appeared to actually be rigged against Republicans (Romney came closer to winning the popular vote than he did the EC in 2012). If you were on the Right in any capacity between 2008 and 2016, it felt like the world you knew was dying. Add to that the emergence of the Great Awokening around 2013-2014, and it truly felt like we had become strangers in our own country. Then along came this guy who seemingly, against all odds, shattered the mythos of the emerging thousand-year libtard reich. The average "normie Republican" is incredibly loyal to Trump because they see in him the only force that was capable of punching back on their behalf. That doesn't make him perfect or the solution to all of our problems, and it doesn't mean there isn't room for legitimate criticism. But his emergence in 2015 broke the demoralization spell that had almost completely captured the minds of tens of millions of conservatives. Without a proper understanding of what things looked like before Trump, no analysis of the current state of the American Right is complete, and no plan for the future can be put into practice.
