Rotten Tomatoes stared as a simple review site offering a honest "at a glance" understanding of a movie so average people could decide if they want to watch it without needing to fully research some popcorn entertainment on Friday night Once it became clear that the review score selection was being manipulated to exclude bad reviews and warp perceptions of movies they had to introduce the audience score to restore the idea that there was a way to get the authentic reaction of real people Audience scores started revealing how fake the critic reviews were so then RT had to start manipulating those as well, so now you have the illusion of choice where you are free to select which score will lie to you in an entirely controlled media environment This post is not about Rotten Tomatoes

@clairlemon This is his life and his shtick. I love following Bryan. This is honestly his life and he laughs at himself, embraces the haters and does the most ridiculous stuff This is different than saying you can't podcast for 3 days because you had 3 glasses of wine. Too far is his thing

@CynicalPublius He'll do it in exchange for a cabinet position... But the Dems won't do it because they know he is unpredictable and will turn on them in 3.4 minutes. So he'll just go on The View and MSNBC like MTG.

"If Republicans lose the Senate majority in November, seating a freshman GOP senator would be of limited value, especially compared with the political capital Cornyn has amassed in Washington since 2002," @carinemhajjar writes. wapo.st/4wTu3gA

@CoreyWriting He doesn't need to run in 2028... Rubio and DeSantis are both amazing options, and slightly more mainstream. Also, we need a Gen-X POTUS!

Exactly. Cornyn is not a villain. He’s done many, many good things for the nation, the GOP and Texas. I’ve cast many votes for him going back to Texas AG. He also does not have the fire in his belly for what is coming. If he wins, OK but I’d rather see him enjoy a well-earned retirement

@swingingcarrot @shipwreckedcrew He's 74 and has lived in DC for 25 years. He has no idea what he is fighting for anymore. The fact that anyone supports him after we watched what happened to Cocaine Mitch amazes me.

@shipwreckedcrew Cornyn is OK, but his mushiness is not what will work in an era where Dems are utterly insane.

Cornyn is nothing like Tillis or Cassidy. He’ll probably lose tomorrow but if he wins, it’ll be because he’s handled himself much better than any other primaried senator or Congressman. I personally never understood the hate he gets. That said, no one is entitled to a seat so it’s not like Paxton was breaking the law by running in a primary. And “nice guy” Hunt ran in the primary too! Massie had to go. Cassidy was way out of step with his state. But if Cornyn does win, it’s just a couple of Senate votes difference between him and Paxton over this coming term.

@shipwreckedcrew Why can't we admit that he's way too old? If he wins, he'll be 80 at the end of his next term. He needs to spend time with his family and not be like Mitch McConnell

Today we remember the power of Narrative. The communists used Narrative to leverage the overdose of a violent career criminal into a worldwide accumulation of wealth and power. A lot of people on the right failed the test of that moment. Never accept the left’s Narratives.

Today, we remember George Floyd, who was murdered by a former Minneapolis police officer six years ago.   That moment changed our city forever.

Dems: "Trump called veterans suckers and losers!" Narrator: This was denied by everyone involved and no proof this ever happened. Dems senate nominee Graham Platner on Reddit: "That dumb motherf***** didn't deserve to live!" (soldier was shot, seriously wounded, received Purple Heart, Platner refuses to apologize). "The U.S. Army is "absolute trash" and "full of fat, lazy trash who would rather not be in uniform". Narrator: He also has a Nazi tattoo and downplayed military sexual assault. Dems: "He's our guy! He's AWESOME!" You can not make this up.

@shipwreckedcrew And then it all depends on the cost of the wine to determine if it's worth it. We bring $35 - $50 bottles to Asian and Italian places with $4 corkage! $30 corkage on a $15 bottle and you're better off buying their wine.

That's called "corkage" and it's been part of the restaurant industry for ... the 45 years I've been going to restaurants. They allow you to bring in your own wine as a courtesy, and the corkage is the "profit" the restaurant doesn't make on the wine you don't buy from them. Alcohol in a restaurant is a huge source of profit. If they allowed diners to bring wine with no fee, that lost "opportunity cost" would dent their revenue.
Poisonslash@PoisonslashX

I recently learned about this from my girlfriend. Apparently it's the same if you bring a bottle of wine to a restaurant. We brought a $19 bottle of wine for her birthday dinner and they charged us $30 just to open the bottle and let us have glasses... I get it's a business but it feels pretty bullshit when you already paid $200 for dinner.

@Cernovich In the 90s, PwC Consulting (bought by IBM) had a 14 week training program for new hires out of college. They hired smart Americans and trained them to contribute quickly. IBM killed the program and started hiring foreigners to lower cost. computerworld.com/article/132882…
