Amazingly, the RNF213 attack on pathogens is not diffusion-controlled. Coats form through rate-limiting initiation events and subsequent cooperative incorporation of further RNF213 monomers. Brilliant collab with J.Boulanger! Thx to @MRC_LMB light & electron microscopy facilities

We reveal features in RNF213 consistent with PRR function - a history of strong positive selection and a novel carbohydrate bdg domain, which we solved by #cryoEM. Great collaboration with @HarmitMalik lab Congratulations to all authors, especially Ana, Prathyush and Katerina!
