Super important issue in the mouse research community to address. Carefully consider and reject all alternative hypotheses, and don’t just assume!

@Jeff_Mold IL-4 is mitogenic on top of signals 1 and 2 but type-2 inflammation is traditionally pro-tumoral (MDSC suppressing CD8 etc), at least in mice. Human immune system is weird though; exhibit A: human ILC2s are cytotoxic and can directly kill tumours.

Fascinating study on the potentially beneficial role of IL-4 signalling on CAR-T products to persist post-transfusion. Wouldn’t have thought type-2 immunity helps with anti-tumour response, but human immunology is so different and full of surprises 😌 nature.com/articles/s4158…
