(1/4) Our newest discovery on B-cell memory, just published @ImmunityCP: the development of memory B cells from germinal centers requires IL-9 derived from T cells, which instructs MBC development through the action of transcription factor ZBTB18. cell.com/immunity/fullt…

Excited to share our new paper in @JExpMed 🎉 We show that NK cells use autocrine TGF-β1 signalling to establish tissue residency, form a highly cytotoxic subset, and protect the tissue against viral persistence. rupress.org/jem/article/22…

Thrilled to share that our paper is out!📢This marks my first co-second (wth @y_lubling) authorship collab during my PhD—couldn't be prouder of our team's work "Modeling TNBC drug responses with patient-derived xenografts opens doors to precision medicine strategies" @CR_AACR 1/n

As someone attending my first DC meeting, it’s living up to expectations that there’s an official forum to showdown on DC nomenclature 😂 it’s no @ASImmunology Lafferty debate but the vibe ain’t entirely different tbh! #DC2024

We highlight future areas of interests, including 1) refined mouse models informed by human data, 2) next generation combinatorial targeting mouse strains to study subsets of subsets, and 3) neuronal regulation of type-2 immunity.

Super important issue in the mouse research community to address. Carefully consider and reject all alternative hypotheses, and don’t just assume!

Passenger mutations in KO mice can influence gene expression & impact experimental results 3 studies this month highlight this issue - Nlrp3 (inflammasome) doi.org/10.1038/s41418… - Ackr1 & Ackr2 (chemokine) doi.org/10.1093/jleuko… doi.org/10.1093/jleuko… Check your KO mice

@Jeff_Mold IL-4 is mitogenic on top of signals 1 and 2 but type-2 inflammation is traditionally pro-tumoral (MDSC suppressing CD8 etc), at least in mice. Human immune system is weird though; exhibit A: human ILC2s are cytotoxic and can directly kill tumours.

Fascinating study on the potentially beneficial role of IL-4 signalling on CAR-T products to persist post-transfusion. Wouldn’t have thought type-2 immunity helps with anti-tumour response, but human immunology is so different and full of surprises 😌 nature.com/articles/s4158…
