@Fooljeff My relative was the minister for the wedding recently and he had chatGPT signs all over his talking points. Everyone loved it. I had to hide my cringe

@Fooljeff I started seeing this last summer. It’s blatantly obvious to those who know, but most people don’t recognize it.

It'd hit different because he spoke from experience. How else could he write what he wrote if he wasn't at some point guilty of their antitheses, the inherent enantiodromia? Integration is an ongoing process, particularly for someone like Jung, who was both professionally and personally in a state of constant experimentation. Doesn't excuse his behavior but it doesn't take away from his work all that much.
Vivid Void@vividvoid

This quote hits different when you realize Jung fucked his vulnerable patients and humiliated his wife with repeated affairs. Yes, sacrificing for others is hard. But that is also part of the dues that life demands! Self abnegation is the base price of love, the foundation of your humanity. For all his love of myth and religion, Jung failed to grasp the truth underlying the story of Cain. Failing to sacrifice appropriately - to pay the dues of life, of love, of relationship, of civilization - is far more expensive than humility, generosity, and accepting the constraints that make a good life possible, for you and the people you love.

Men are terrified to be with a woman that is more intelligent than them, makes more money than them, works out, has a 5 year plan Not me If you're a grade-A baddie that wants to settle for a stably employed bachelor's educated 6'3" delightful conversationalist, i'm your man

@Fooljeff We've had a decade-plus of people who never speak in public reading poems and other crap off their phones at weddings and funerals. This is one of those rare instances where I think AI might be helpful

@Fooljeff Hey are you free tomorrow 5:30-7 PST? I'm doing my new relational format online (Circling but with WAY more structure, delineated domains of personal experience, forced motive-disclosure for any curiosities). Would love to have you

@Fooljeff Wedding vows have been slop since the invention of the camera. There's a reason in Wedding Crashers, a film that came out 20 years ago, there's a scene where the main characters predict the vows. Not all slop is AI slop.

@Fooljeff You could just accept wedding invitations conditionally. “I’m only agreeing to go if you’re agreeing to leave LLM’s out of the entire ceremony”
