An airstrike executed by the junta regime in Gyunchaung village, situated in Paletwa township of southern Chin state, has killed seven villagers, among whom were four children under the age of 16, while four additional villagers sustained injuries during this incident on 29 March 2026. The Arakan Army (AA), which has asserted full control over Paletwa township and established its own administrative zone within Chin state, released images depicting both the deceased and the injured. The AA said that the junta regime deployed two fighter jets to conduct the airstrike on the civilian population, despite the absence of any reported clashes between the junta forces and the Arakan Army in the vicinity at the time of the attack.
