@SleepyInSA2 My fear to my mates was that Fulton's improved performances would tail off after getting his contract, and was praying I was wrong. Shame that it's another season I just want to end. Also need to stop getting ourselves excited by signings we haven't seen play in the flesh.

@Gate2Podcast Took some stick for querying the Fulton renewal at the time. Hey ho. I doubt Matos is blind to where our issues are. I can understand why he's felt he's had no option but to persist. It has largely worked in terms of points gained after all, even given a kind run of games.

Interesting seeing a few tweets starting to question Matos. Tends to be what happens to our managers. Tad unfair IMO. It's a limited squad which simply isn't as good as the top ones. The excellent run wasn't sustainable. Think expectations need to be more realistic IMO.

@HqSwansea The only exception was when Cullen was shoehorned to the right wing against Preston, and scored (a very good goal). But it's why we can afford to drop the wingers and play square pegs for now - we lose fuck all by dropping our actual wingers, as they're shite.

@ill_shank_urDad @scfcthomas I personally think Birmingham and Wrexham are better than what went down last season (and what came up the year before), and Southampton, Ipswich and Sheffield Utd better the what came down the year prior. For me, it makes it a tougher division than most give it credit for.

@Gate2Podcast @scfcthomas I agree with your other points but this division is terrible this year its the worse since I can remember no doubt about it. I think on another year this Coventey side would be a 3rd/4th place team but this year they are run away winners.

Has a transfer window ever aged worse than last summer? The only good signing was Ethan Galbraith. £20m+ spent and one quality player to show for it.

@SleepyInSA2 Definitely some concerns. Needs the window, pre-season and chance to really work. I just hope he doesn't plan on relying on players like Ronald, Eom & Fulton, who've had a criminal amount of minutes under him.

@Gate2Podcast I agree with all of that, and think there were some serious over expectations of where we actually are as a result. That's not his fault though. Key thing for me is not to do the usual thing of pin everything on the manager. He's not the reason our squad is so unbalanced/iffy.

@scfcthomas We have to add genuine first XI players with real quality. We have a good sized squad, which we can fall back on, but the players we buy have to be our best players! No more adding to squad - bring quality that raises standards. Others improve (🤞🏻) if standards not on the floor.

@Gate2Podcast Well summarised mate. I don’t know what we do this summer.

@AledSCFC @scfcthomas Inoussa had a few promising performances in his first few games (albeit without really doing much in the final third), then had a series of games where he was anonymous. We see our wingers do one positive action in a match and think that's good enough, but it's not.

@scfcthomas We need to add real physical attributes - strength and pace, as well as some knowhow at the level. We're too naive, too nice, led by a nice captain, and yesterday showed that virtually 1-11 are not good enough to compete at the top end of this league.

@scfcthomas Hardly any of the players were Championship "ready", & I look at others (Widell, Walta, Inoussa - even Eom & Ronald from Windows before) and have serious doubts whether they'll ever be physically good enough to impact at the level. We've accepted mediocrity for quote some time..

Their wingers had pace, power, ability, could play inside or outside.. One of our wingers looks like Bambi on ice, whilst the other is too busy doing the Cha Cha Slide by our area for the second goal. Have said all season, we simply cannot be a serious proposition with them.

@dawkinscov1980 What you do for a club matters - he done an awful lot. Most South Wales derby wins, consistent season after season, played virtually every game, etc. How you leave a club also matters, and he and his camp handled it horrendously. Deserves everything he gets today.

@SCFC_Jamess A shot of Snoop entering the ground, brief coverage of him walking around the pitch & a few glances to him in the stands. Literally highlighting an interesting facet to the match, but no more - whilst on red button. Big difference to their own production company running a show.

Disingenuous comparison and he knows it. -We werent the main game. -it wasn't marketed to death in the build up. -Snoop wasn't commentating. -The coverage wasn't heavily in favour of us. Even the main coverage for the Swansea/Wrexham game was heavily in their favour.
Tom@tommyshuffle1

Happy to have Sky pandering to you when Snoop Dogg was there for the Preston game though. Constantly showing Snoop on the TV. Spare a thought for the Preston fans watching on the TV. Fickle as fuck 🤫 #Wxmafc #Swans

@stujames75 All round game has improved, and he's much sharper and more agile than he was last season. His numbers are remarkable when you consider he gets virtually no service from wingers, the 8s, and the fact we don't play a 10. Boggling to think how many he'd have scored with service.

When Vipotnik came off v Crawley in Aug after a tough night, & Wales scored 3mins after replacing him, it felt symptomatic of where he was at that time. Vipotnik’s transformation since has been superb & a joy to watch. He feels like a throwback - a No9 with a thunderbolt shot.

@RobBuzzard @secondtierpod In fairness our previous regime used to wait until the last second to try and extend a key players contract, and we'd end up losing a player for less than half of what we could have commanded twelve months prior, so this is music to our ears.

This is HUGE news. Swansea tie Zan Vipotnik down to a new four-year deal 👏🦢 League's top goalscorer is a Swan until 2030.

Extending the contract of a top striker is not the Swansea way.. Losing him on a cut price deal to another team in the division is how we roll! Serious statement! 🇸🇮🇸🇮

@jiggybulko @sonictheswans We've only won two games against the top 10 all season. One against a Watford team in disarray, and one against Wrexham who were absolutely garbage on the day. We've been excellent against the poorer/average teams in the division, but otherwise pretty useless 👎🏻
