Nuclear is costly, slow to build, dangerous. Cost of Hinckley = solar panels on 1/4 houses in UK “Scotland has it absolutely right. You don’t need to take the risk, the waste, the expense of nuclear power. It’s intricately connected to the nuclear weapons sector.”

@HardScrape @indi_hartwell because you dont want to always strap in for low speed mucking around and dont want to listen to the beeper either so it's a "win win".

@bezthesubverter @indi_hartwell Ah I see, I thought they were just a dummy belt clip, I didn't know you could connect to them in turn. Why do people use them if you're gonna plug your seat belt in anyway?

@HardScrape @indi_hartwell these are "extenders" that are one step above these plugs, they allow you to stfu beeper yet allow you strap in, in case you choose so. but now your seat belt connects to this chinese crap instead of OEM buckle it could just pop rendering belt useless in case of a crash

@NM12713716 @marhin @JillBelch Not so, Sodium batteries are way less flammable than lithium and a lot less than gas and liquids fuels and size wize, we already cover massive areas in power plant infrastructure, fuel storage, refineries etc. The bigger issue will be siting solar arrays.

@HardScrape @marhin @JillBelch No time will ever make battery storage really viable. Banks of batteries have to be huge - covering acres and they are dangerous. FGS we can’t even stop electric cars from exploding!

Jews are officially the most hated group in the world 🌎 today. The hatred of Jews is up 200%. This is sad because we all know it’s Zionism & Zionists that people actually hate. Zionists are making life so extremely difficult & unsafe for Jews world 🌎 wide.

@NikkiC62857923 @JillBelch batter technology isn't to a standard yet to replace bade load generation, sodium cells will become cheap but they aren't cheap enough yet.

@HardScrape @JillBelch Yes and No as in we need a direction of travel to cleaner energy sources, oil and coal are non starters, mass ‘battery’ technology is becoming available and gas is hit by uncertainty over supply not just the current situation

@NM12713716 @marhin @JillBelch Yes, that's why I said given time, they need to either become much more energy dense so that we dont need as many or more likely, so cheap that massive amounts can be used.

@NM12713716 @marhin @JillBelch Seasonal, not fluctuating, if the UK produces a big excess of electricity in the summer companies will make use of that and arrange production schedules to capitalize on it. This is already happening in multiple world wide locations.

@joncoop194 @marhin @JillBelch We are already reliant on a multitude of countries all around the world..wtf, we dont have energy independence now and we never will have unless we heavily invest in nuclear or Fusion happens. How much of a security risk is generation in Spain for you?

@NM12713716 @marhin @JillBelch Indeed, but excess will be managed by battery technology given time. By industrial opportunities I mean for example in the summer over production from solar will drive down energy cost making seasonal bulk manufacturing sensible for high energy cost industries ie steel making.

Yes, there are always two sides in the conflict - but in this case, speaking of Israel/Palestine, one side is so morally bankrupt, it's almost beyond human comprehention. I have never seen or heard of a group of people do things so disgusting, as Israel did to Palestinians. Among other reasons, this comes from impunity as they can do whatever they want without consequences. So as a prerequisite to any kind of peace, they would have to - Face the consequences for their actions - install a real justice system, not a two-tier one. Murder, theft, vandalism, arsen, torture, rape is wrong - no matter which side does it. - Stop stealing people's houses, and give reparations to those that have been stolen; stop stealing other country's land as well - Prosecute the war criminals x.com/trtworld/statu…

Iran can bomb London. Is this what it will take for Keir Starmer to wake up? A Missile attack on a UK Base? Keir Starmer needs to quickly realise that helping the Americans only threatens everyday British People. British People will die if Starmer follows the path he's on.

They keep saying migrants are the reason you cannot get a home. Sit with the numbers for a second. There are 242,000 people in England facing the worst forms of homelessness. Around 32,000 asylum seekers are in hotels. That is the figure they want you to picture. That is the image they repeat. Now look at what they leave out. There are 998,000 empty homes in England. Over 265,000 have been sitting empty long term. Entire streets. Entire blocks. Locked up while people are told there is no space. Then there is land. Not green fields. Not the last bits of nature left around towns. Brownfield land. Former industrial sites. Places already built on and abandoned. Reports show almost 1.5 million homes could be built there. So the truth is uncomfortable for them. This is not a shortage created by migrants. It is a system that leaves homes empty while people sleep in temporary accommodation. It is a choice to ignore brownfield land while threatening green space. It is a failure of policy not an invasion of people. The numbers do not support the story they are selling. Every person in temporary housing and every asylum seeker in a hotel could be housed without touching a single piece of greenbelt. The capacity already exists. The land already exists. The homes already exist. Blaming migrants is easier. It is louder. It gets headlines. Fixing the system would require actually doing the work.
