@NBCNews It might also have something to do with the overreliance of today's forecasters on computer generated weather modeling. 25 years ago, the old guard were still doing the math and modeling themselves and were more accurate then than they are now, with less sensitive equipment.

@OriginWx @DualDoppler Here’s a simple recipe for a light Victoria sponge:
200g butter + 200g sugar. Beat in 4 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla. Fold in 200g self-raising flour. Bake in 2 tins at 180°C. Fill with jam (and cream), sandwich, dust with icing sugar.
If you want, I can give you an eggless version too.

Cutting so many soundings from the EML source region has been disastrous for model data. Forecast verifications have been really bad lately. We really need something to give here…

@DualDoppler @Zachwx12 It will always be a negative feedback loop. The government slashes funding, important infrastructure is affected, forecasts get worse, the government blames the meteorologists for making bad forecasts, the government cuts funding, the cycle repeats.
