I finally gave up on finding a Canadian bank with a functioning website, and drive an hour to the nearest RBC branch to open an account in-person. At which point the teller informs me that their software will not accept my email address as valid because it is not a gmail address.

Update: After having given up last time, I today needed to send a large wire, which I was unable to do because my current bank's website is broken. In frustration I have now tried once again to open an account at several of the largest banks in Canada, and this has once again proven impossible as their websites continue to crash at random points in the signup flow. This is reaching sitcom levels of ridiculousness. How do 41 million people live in this country without a single functioning bank‽ I am semi-seriously considering moving to the United States just so I can use Mercury.

It’s crazy to me that McDonald’s was fast food for like 50 years without an issue, and now 99% of the time they have you pull around and park to wait ten mins for your food. What happened? Automation is better and the employees got slower. All while getting paid more. Makes no sense.

Doesn't work very well. Heritability of exceptional strategic genius is not strong enough for the prince to be as good as the king. Millennia of history and fallen dynasties show this.
