I didn’t grow up with trucks, so cut me some slack. But we grew up with Toyota and Hondas as the reliable cars in our immigrant household. So why are Ridgelines and Tacomas/Tundras so much less used in fleets than a Ford or Chevy? Are they actually worse?

@thereal__jaime At this point it seems like he's probably 99% dead, R's are stringing him along to reach the Aug 3 deadline for an election but D's come out ahead at a natl level by dragging it out at by having the R majority cut (with no one to replace him)

@cctvincidents How'd she wake up from a blackout and get right back into it? Separately, later she's gonna be wondering why the back of her head hurts so much...

@HedgeDirty I would argue that there is also less "hard" work to be done, in the sense that a steelworker will never think his white collar son is working as hard

I think I've tweeted this before, but my theory of why "kids these days just dont work as hard" is such a recurring trope is that in every generation, the hard-working rise to the top, and it is they who tell the story of their generation's past

@HotPanini1 @buccocapital he does so much more than that even in the financial space. He made the twitter investors money even after the thing tanked. incredible work

@Owennfa Good on her for having a goal, but buying a home isn't something single people have historically done

My sister has been saving for a house down payment for 6 years. $500 a month. Every month. No exceptions. She skipped vacations. Drove the same car for a decade. Packed lunch every single day. Last month she finally hit $60,000. She called me excited. Ready to start looking. Then her realtor sent her the numbers. Average home in her area: $520,000. She needs $104,000 for 20% down to avoid PMI. She's $44,000 short. After 6 years of sacrifice. She asked me what she did wrong. Nothing. She did everything right. The finish line just moved faster than she could run. She's 34. Single. No kids. Good job. Perfect credit. And she's still not enough for a system that keeps adjusting the rules mid-game.

@buccocapital This covers most of his ventures, but I should actually amend #1 to say 1) Identify biggest flow of funds at the time That captures PayPal (in that era) and xAI as well. It's like a first principles consulting analysis on which industry to get into

@buccocapital It's weird people don't give him credit just because his strengths aren't in a trad wrapper. What he's shown he can do is: 1) Identify flow of government funds 2) Raise money to build something that can access that flow 3) Sell unlimited growth potential 4) Exit to public market

Doesn't work very well. Heritability of exceptional strategic genius is not strong enough for the prince to be as good as the king. Millennia of history and fallen dynasties show this. Much better idea: clone the king and pass to his clone, or even better just solve aging and leep the kimg alive forever.

1 year ago, Pacific Beach residents protested a 23-Story Tower being built in a tightly packed residential neighborhood in a small business district with only 2 lanes surrounded by a neighborhood with very little parking. You would have imagined these residents would have their city council member there, but No. Joe La Cava told them he was too busy attending a Pride Parade across the city. The greedy developer is using loopholes in the affordable housing laws stating that if they make a handful of units "affordable" housing, they can make all the rest luxury apartments or hotel rooms. Currently 1 full year has gone by and the project is still held up in San Diego City review. The "affordable housing" term is a total scam for developers. The County of San Diego defines Low Income as households earning up to 80% of the AMI. The average median income for San Diego is $130,000. But the AMI for La Jolla / North PB where this horrible tower is being proprosed is $147,230 – $184,004. So what is considered "Affordable Housing" in San Diego is basically an AMI of $100,000.
