Big result here. Baseline expectancy for efficacy of psilocybin-therapy in depression was NOT predictive of actual response to psilocybin therapy. Conversely, expectancy for the SSRI DID predict response to the SSRI.

1/ Love the discussion @TheBorisLab study is stirring. For me the most interesting angle is the placebo response. Much higher in anaesthetised state (where blinding is maintained) compared to awake studies where individuals KNOW they got placebo. ‘KNOW-cebo’ = nocebo
