@IsabelLovesFoxs @RealSAustin @MaximumADHD @StrobaCat2 mb 25% is even worse… an one-time payment which gets refunded after a certain milestone (like Steam) or just requiring Roblox Plus on publish/update instead of continuously would be sufficient for their “child safety” argument
but yea that wouldn’t be profitable…
English

@FloppyMinty @RealSAustin @MaximumADHD @StrobaCat2 My point was it's like 25% share more so but ikr... It's very clearly just greed and a lot of devs wont admit that even tho theres an ID requirement ONTOP of that not even like one or the other, or just one... Or a one time payment per game or one time payment overall
English

@IsabelLovesFoxs @RealSAustin @MaximumADHD @StrobaCat2 why do we need to pay $60/yr to get a 30% share 😭
English

@TheSmilesFamily Maybe you had an expensive gamepass which someone used el dorado to have bots buy it? That'd be my guess... It'd cost them money to do so it'd be super petty but it's possible
English

DanStickman's account has been shadowbanned and blocked from DevEx because of an entirely false moderation decision.
I have never once participated in off-site selling or purchasing of Roblox items. I don't know what led them to think this.
@Roblox #roblox #robloxdev

English

@FloppyMinty @RealSAustin @MaximumADHD @StrobaCat2 Roblox actually takes 75.5 percent. 30% from their initial tax, then you only get 35% of that if you base it on the cost of robux meaning you earn 24.5 cents per dollar spent on your game
English

@RealSAustin @MaximumADHD @StrobaCat2 In return Apple gives you 85% of the purchases (if revenue < $1m). Roblox likes to take that 70% too.
Paying when you earn feels OK, but having to pay R$ 17k / yr on top of the fees feels like a financial punishment if you don’t focus a lot of monetization.
English

@IsabelLovesFoxs @Jer3Dz most roblox devs in fact don’t have ‘no paid cosmetics’
almost every game i see on my front page has mono and at least some of gamepass, product, or subscription
English

@IsabelLovesFoxs @Jer3Dz then they have bad mono or something bro my 10 ccu game makes 150-300 robux a day
English

@Njbbear @24KaratGoldX @Jer3Dz I know this isn't a reply to me but for me it's because I'm passionate. UGC creators may be more in it for making money, but I've always made my games out of passion. Making money comes as a bonus imo if anything, but having fun developing a game comes first
English

@24KaratGoldX @IsabelLovesFoxs @Jer3Dz if you aren’t making any money though what’s the point
are you just here for experience or because you’re passionate?
English

@Njbbear @Jer3Dz It's possible for UGC creators, not every game is going to make that much. I can afford it as is, the issue isn't affordability it's principle, I'm not gonna be strongarmed into making games for a shitty platform forcing it's devs to pay, I'll just switch to a new game engine
English

@IsabelLovesFoxs @Jer3Dz do commissions then, get a job, do something to get money and once you have it, you’re set
I started my UGC group with $50 which now as over 1M sales so anything is possible
English

@IsabelLovesFoxs @Jer3Dz cause the novice game dev doesn’t know how to do game dev correctly
if you know how to do your job, you’ll succeed
English

@IsabelLovesFoxs @Jer3Dz plus you can just advertise straight through the built in ad system, ugc doesn’t have that option
English

@IsabelLovesFoxs @PRUSHER_DEV don't forget about publishing a game on steam is $100/game and not a one time fee ya
English

@baldifan12354 @RootieDaHoodie They're just rage baiting for engagement
English

@RootieDaHoodie because I'm sure "escape tung tung" is gonna get you so far and develop an entire community compared to something with actual substance
English

@IsabelLovesFoxs @LowQualityIce @Dragolii They will be adding Plus bundles soon after Plus release which would include Robux as well: about.roblox.com/newsroom/2026/…

English

Honestly this could work if they either
-straight up remove roblox plus from the requirement
-make it so you can buy roblox plus with robux
-make roblox plus like 1 buck

Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform. To publish for all ages, you now need: - Roblox Plus; - ID Verification & Age Check; - 2-Step Verification enabled; - and have your account in "good standing". Roblox will additionally run games through trials
