I've been watching some YouTube videos where historical figures had their paintings re-rendered by Ai as contemporary photos, and the connection it creates with the subject is quite profund. So I tried it on some Victorian photos such as the shot below of Sir John Herschel from 1867. The potential it offers family historians is considerable, and so I thought, as a fun little Christmas present to you, I would offer the service freely to my followers during this week. So if you want to post a shot of an ancestor I will, in turn, reply with a re-rendered version for you, re-imagining them as if taken by modern photography. But just single shots (not groups or couples) and they need to be of clear enough resolution that we can clearly see their faces and not have to guess at their features.

"I'd like to see the BC government put absolute number one priority on getting our economy rolling again." At last week's AME Town Hall in Vancouver, President & CEO Todd Stone had the chance to talk to AME member Patricia Mohr, commodity expert and developer of the Scotiabank Commodity Price Index, about what it takes to accelerate the mineral exploration and development sector in BC.

@e_bloor The current site of @AME_BC is just right of centre (orange building replaced by orangish-brown one); the roof of the old office might just be barely visible.

Honoured to be raising funds for @BCCHF. Let the pies fly!
AME@AME_BC

🥧Pies are being served... but who's getting hit? May is #MiningMonth in BC, and AME is proud to kick it off by supporting @Mining4Miracles, a fantastic initiative dedicated to raising funds for @BCCHF. This year, our own Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Buchanan and Board Director Janice Fingler are facing off in a pie-throwing showdown! The top fundraiser gets spared. The other?🥧 Whether you're looking to save your favourite or see them get pie-d, your donation makes all the difference. Donate by Friday, May 30 to support this great cause: Jonathan's page: secure.bcchf.ca/SuperheroPages… Janice's page: secure.bcchf.ca/SuperheroPages… #Mining4Miracles

Congratulations to @KamloopsExplora on a great #KEG2025 conference that highlighted the importance of grassroots exploration - record attendance and good conversations throughout!
AME@AME_BC

At the #KEG2025 conference, AME Chair Trish Jacques took to the stage to highlight the importance of certainty in the regulatory environment in advancing exploration across British Columbia. The AME team had an excellent time connecting with members and conference attendees and we thank you for your valuable feedback. If you haven’t yet, stop by our Booth 27 at the tradeshow before 4 PM today to connect with the team and say hello! @KamloopsExplora

In my oped in BIV, I outline why permitting timelines matter. Delayed permits and the impacts that they have to businesses and communities, hitting the regions the hardest. @AME_BC biv.com/news/commentar…
