With strong markets for gold and silver, BC has a solid opportunity to secure its economic future. The Golden Triangle in the Northwest already makes BC the third largest province contributing to Canadian gold production. Five proposed precious metal projects in Northern BC can build on this, advancing gold and gold-silver production. These include Blackwater EP2, Eskay Creek, Lawyers-Ranch, New Polaris, and Premier and Red Mountain. @ArtemisGoldInc @SkeenaGoldSilv @ThesisGoldSilv @CCMGoldLtd @cambgold Construction and development of these projects is expected to contribute $5.2 billion in economic output for British Columbia: 🔹$3 billion in investment 🔹$1.6 billion in pay cheques 🔹GDP of $2.7 billion 🔹Government revenues of $865 million Precious metals development in the North represents a clear opportunity to contribute to BC’s economic security, export strength, and long-term employment. 📊Learn more from the full Northern BC Mining Economic Impact Study: lnkd.in/gQFm_MsH #BCMining #NorthernBC #EconomicImpact #CriticalMinerals #bcpoli Image credit @ArtemisGoldInc

Critical minerals are central to our economy, sovereignty, and national security. In Northern BC, 16 proposed critical mineral projects form the backbone of the region’s mining development pipeline. These projects are focused on commodities such as copper, molybdenum, rare-earths — essential for clean energy systems, battery technologies, defence and industrial manufacturing. The projects include: Aley project, Red Chris extension, KSM, Galore Creek, Berg,  Schaft Creek, Baptiste and more. @Taseko @NewmontCorp @SeabridgeInc @TeckResources @SurgeCopper @FPX_Nickel Construction and development of these projects is expected to contribute $62.7 billion in economic output for British Columbia: 🔹 $36.4 billion in investment 🔹 More than $19 billion in pay cheques 🔹$10 billion in government revenues At a time of trade disruption and slowing growth, critical mineral development in Northern BC represents a tangible opportunity to support workers, strengthen regional economies, and position BC as a reliable supplier of responsibly produced materials. 📊See the full Northern BC Mining Economic Impact Study: lnkd.in/gQFm_MsH #BCMining #NorthernBC #EconomicImpact #CriticalMinerals #bcpoli

The MABC team was proud to represent BC’s mining industry at @the_PDAC Convention 2026 in Toronto this week alongside members, suppliers, and industry partners. With over 32,000 attendees and 1,300 exhibitors, the opportunities to connect with global mining companies, investors, and industry leaders were second to none. It was inspiring to see members sharing their expertise on panels. Robert Brent Murphy of @SeabridgeInc and Stephen Crozier of Thesis Gold & Silver tackled strategies to address greenwashing, while Nadia Haider of @elkvalleyr shared the BC perspective on getting major projects built in Canada. We also heard strong reinforcement from the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources @timhodgsonmt that critical minerals are central to economic security, national defence, and the global race to net zero. BC’s mining industry showed up strong in Toronto — highlighting the vital role our province can play in the nation-building opportunity mining represents for Canada and beyond. #BCMining #CriticalMinerals

BC’s mining industry is actively hiring as new projects move forward. As noted by @goehring_m, President & CEO of @MA_BC: “It’s a lucrative field that pays well and provides very stable employment...but we can’t recruit our way out of this.” @CTEMS_Inc Jill Budelli explained further, “There are 120 careers within mining… some require university, college or trades training, but most are so-called occupational roles.” 🔗 Read more about the skills and labour gap in BC’s mining sector and how to address this challenge in @VancouverSun: vancouversun.com/business/bc-mi… #BCMining #WorkforceDevelopment #MiningCareers #EconomicGrowth #JobsInBC

Micheal Göhring of @MA_BC slams the BC NDP for seeking to impose PST on a wider range of goods and services mining companies rely on: “Laying more costs on an industry that government has identified as a foundational economic and job-creation driver is counterproductive.”

MABC was pleased to join BC business leaders today to voice concern about the BC government’s expansion of the PST on a range of professional services — and its adverse effects on BC’s mining and refining sector. @goehring_m, President & CEO of MABC said, “Government has made progress on mine permitting, but the PST expansion runs contrary to this effort and will hinder the competitiveness and growth of BC’s mining industry. It’s one step forward, two steps back.” “The PST will disadvantage early development projects that face enormous technical and feasibility study costs that run in the tens of millions annually, but have no cash flow.” @BoardofTrade #bcpoli #bcmining

MABC is pleased Hudbay received its amended Mines Act and Environmental Management Act permits from the provincial government. The New Ingerbelle expansion project will secure local jobs, services and supply opportunities for the community of Princeton while generating significant economic benefits in southern British Columbia for decades. These permits mean more than 800 jobs will be sustained, along with vital government revenues. The permitting of New Ingerbelle follows the recent permitting of Eskay Creek and Mount Milligan mines in January, and Highland Valley Copper mine in June 2025. Progress is being made with respect to mine permitting in BC. However, to build on this momentum and realize our once in a lifetime mining opportunity, government must deliver systemic change and durable improvements to the permitting and authorization of mine development projects in BC. #bcpoli #bcmining

The referral of @NorthIsle_CG North Island project, @SurgeCopper’s Berg, and @DefenseMetals’ Wicheeda projects to the BC government’s Critical Minerals Office is welcome news. 👏 Tailored support to development projects before they enter regulatory processes should facilitate more efficient and timely permitting and authorizations of major mines. The Critical Minerals Office should help coordinate, de-risk and prepare projects advancing to environmental assessment and mine permitting processes. This is an important step in the government’s overall mandate to expedite mine permitting and authorizations.

Mines proposed in Northern BC represent a once-in-a-generation economic opportunity for British Columbians. MABC’s recent Northern BC Mining Economic Impact Study examines 24 proposed mining projects in the North, including 16 critical mineral projects, five precious metal, and three steelmaking coal projects. Their development and construction are expected to generate: 🔹 $40+ billion in investment 🔹 $21 billion in pay cheques for workers 🔹 $69 billion in economic activity The economic benefits of these projects will be felt well beyond the North, supporting workers, local businesses, and communities across BC at a time when bold action is needed to secure our sovereignty and our economic future. 📊 Read the full Northern BC Mining Economic Impact Study to explore the data: lnkd.in/gQFm_MsH #BCMining #NorthernBC #EconomicImpact #CriticalMinerals #bcpoli
