@MySportsUpdate Next you're going to tell me that Les Snead is close friends with Ty Simpson's dad or something.

#Rams GM Les Snead says the team asks prospects to stay quiet about private visits so other teams won’t know they met.
After being drafted No. 13, Ty Simpson still thought he had to keep it under wraps and told reporters he had never met with the Rams or Sean McVay.

@RGIII Vrabel/Russini: Two married adults cheating. Consensual. No workplace power imbalance. Reporter ethics issue at worst.
Moore: Coach and subordinate employee. Clear violation. Arrested for breaking into her place and threatening to kill himself.
Everyone here sucks though.

@AdamSchefter Would be a smart move for the Vikings.
Sneaky good move to slot Jennings in as a WR3 behind Jefferson and Addison. Fits the scheme and works as a low-risk but high-reward move.
English

@DannyAbriano This is an excellent point. It's not that they were replaced. It's that they were replaced poorly.
Mets fans will always miss Pete. The bigger problem is the guy who replaced him is a gimpy 32-year-old who did nothing and got hurt.
English

@BleacherReport @TickPick @tacobell As a Mets fan I'm here to tell you that even at .39 cents more and with the guarantee of spending the night on the toilet bowl with increasingly concerning diarrhea, the crunchwrap still presents far greater value for your money.
English

@DeadlineDayLive Who wanted this?
The rare show to have a clear story arc and stick the landing really, really well.
English

@stoolpresidente Honestly thought Cora to Philly was a lock.
Surprised at this outcome, and I wonder if Philly knew he would decline before making the move.
English

Wow. The only thing Sox got going for them is I stopped betting on them. Still a #162er but just for the love of the game at this point
Talkin' Baseball@TalkinBaseball_
Alex Cora was offered the Phillies managerial job but turned it down in order to spend time with his family
English

@Masterflip_ Cora or not this isn't even about that. It's about this organization showing a pulse, a care in the world and having some sort of accountability for what has become a dumpster fire.
Stearns should go first, but Mendy is the easier pull. Someone needs to be accountable.
English

But I was told by Mets fans Alex Cora would love to get right back into managing 🥱

Alex Cora was offered the Phillies managerial job but turned it down in order to spend time with his family
English

@_abbyyg Nope. But it will show this organization does have some accountability.
Stearns is the main villain, but Mendoza is first up.
English

@DanBartels2 The Mets aren't making a move on Mendoza any time soon. If they were they would've already losing 15 of 17. They won't because David Stearns would have to admit a mistake.
Mendy will have us at 9-50 and Stearns will be preaching patience until Jorge Polanco comes back in July.
English

If this is true — you can count out Alex Cora as a coaching candidate for the Mets.
Bob Nightengale@BNightengale
Alex Cora was offered the Philadelphia Phillies' managerial job before Don Mattingly, but declined. He has decided to spend time with his family.
English

@Buster_ESPN Kinda shocking.
Only one possible reason: he want the New York Mets.
Uncle Steve better be on the horn!
English

@BetMGM The Mets aren't concerned because David Stearns will not admit he made any mistakes with this roster. A gimpy 32-year-old career 2B at 1B was better than Murakami. Devin Williams was the right call at closer. Relying on Baty/Vientos was the right call.
English

@SleeperMets Mendoza will still manage this team if they wind up at 9-50 and Stearns will still be talking about how Jorge Polanco coming back in August will make the difference.
English

It likely won’t happen. Mendoza being fired means David Stearns accepts he made a mistake.
SleeperMLB@SleeperMLB
Carlos Mendoza watching Rob Thomson and Alex Cora get fired:
English

@TalkinBaseball_ Clearly he's dying to manage the Mets.
Steve Cohen, make the call!
English

@TheMetsway22 @Ddsadyyzx3sj2 @TalkinBaseball_ This is the point. This team isn't just bad. It's been bad for a long time. Names on the back of the jerseys changed but the results have only gotten worse.
English

@TalkinBaseball_ Cora is apparently not a lock. He turned down the job which is actually very surprising.
English

@TalkinBaseball_ And somehow Carlos Mendoza is still managing the $370-plus-million dumpster fire that is the New York Mets.
Alex Cora virtually a lock in this spot, right?
While the Mets stand on their 9-19 record with no changes.
English

@Courtsidecom @SleeperMets Then I stand corrected!
Thanks for info!
English

@JDevilSports @SleeperMets Cora got offered the Phillies job before Mattingly but turned it down to spend time with his family
English

Yet, Carlos Mendoza is still employed.
Wouldn’t be shocked if the Phillies hired Alex Cora.
Matt Gelb@MattGelb
The Phillies have fired manager Rob Thomson, sources told The Athletic. Don Mattingly will be interim manager.
English

@Plakata22 This is all the hubris of David Stearns. He wants us to know that he was and remains the smartest man in the room. Changes = acknowledging his flawed planning.
He won't do that.
English
