@NatashaMDay Approach your unit welfare and ask that whatever trip you are on, is swapped. I’ve been out just a couple of years, and I was smashed with deployments (1 of 2 paramedics deployable in the brigade) seen plenty of less needy folk get of tours etc for bullshit reasons

Can we just take a moment to talk about how hard it is to parent a SEN child? I love my son. More than words could ever say. But my god I am struggling with the weight of it all. Every day he’s struggling so much at school, lashing out, hurting himself and others. And we are both exhausted. I can’t remember the last time we’ve gone a week without ‘we need to talk to you’ when I get to the school gates. And yet every EHCP is rejected. We’ve been on a waiting list for assessments for 4 YEARS. We’re about to have a crack at our 4th attempt. Paying for an assessment is an option- but the schools don’t accept a private assessment. So it’s a waste of money to find out something we already know. I just want to help him, if that means a specialist school then that’s fine. I don’t care what help looks like but we need it. I want to protect him from the world. I’m getting deployed again, which will come with more challenges as he struggles to cope with my absence. I feel so drained
