@RedMarrow_ Again, I'm not the one that brought his name up. I found it laughable that in the incredible history of Manchester United football club, that the date 30th December 2025 is somehow anything more than an unimportant footnote.

The point of the post wasn't even to have a go at Amorim. It was about identifying the club's mistakes. The club had no plan to sack him & had he not lost his head he would have stayed the full season regardless of results. Mainoo would have gone, no CL, etc. Most of the current situation is because Wilcox stumbled to the right solution instead of being proactive and forcing change. The Carrick situation for example. No one would have predicted Carrick to be this successful when he signed as interim. And as our DoF, these are things we must consider. But for some weird reason, every time Amorim is mentioned, you get overly sensitive and jump to defend him. It's as if even hearing a negative thing about him hurts you personally. So who hasn't moved on from him?

30 December 2025: A very important day in the club's history United drew 1-1 vs Wolves at home after reverting to a back 3 'to combat their specific 5-man defensive structure' ↓ Wilcox questions Amorim for reverting to a back 3 and sets CL qualification as the season target ↓ Amorim loses his head and has a row with Wilcox ↓ Falls out with Wilcox over the next 5 days ↓ Rants about being a manager and not a coach in the post-Leeds press conference ↓ Sacked ↓ Utd appoint Carrick who promptly starts playing common-sense football ↓ CL all but secured, Mainoo's future sorted, club in a much better position going into the summer. All because Amorim lost his head after Wolves as United had no intention of changing managers midseason. There would have been no Mainoo and quite possibly no CL next season. Thank you, Amorim.

@RedMarrow_ I'm not the one that posted about him. But the date leading up to his sacking being a "very important one in the history of the club" is laughable. You are aware which club you are talking about?

@OdionHendrix @Lemonbriz We're talking about spending money to buy players that dwarfed what the rest of the league were paying. Mourinho was a big name manager that just won the Champions league. And also, the financial cheating that they've now only received a slap on the risk for.

@JRad137 @Lemonbriz How?? Drogba, lampard, robben, cech, gudjohnsen were largely uknown when they were bought. Terry was home grown Essien had only excelled in french lig. Mikel was an Under 20 talent Most of the marquee signings flopped. Crespo, shevy, etc

🚨🎙️ John Terry on Chelsea and Manchester United’s era of dominance "Those battles against Manchester United between 2004 and 2011… mate, that was proper football. Walking out at Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford knowing it wasn’t just a game — it was for the title, for everything. Sir Alex on one side, Mourinho on the other, two sets of players going to war. The intensity, the tackles, the atmosphere… you could feel the whole country watching. We’d go toe-to-toe with them week in, week out, and every point felt like a trophy. I look at the Premier League now and it’s different. The money’s mad, the players are unbelievable athletes, but that raw edge, that real rivalry… it’s not the same. Back then it was blood and thunder, two giants fighting for supremacy. I miss those days. Proper leaders, proper battles, proper glory. That’s what made it special."

Should MPs be banned from boozing in Parliament? Green MP Hannah Spencer has said she feels "uneasy" when she can "smell the alcohol" on MPs when they vote. She says people in normal jobs wouldn't be able to have a few drinks during a shift, so why should MPs? Do you agree?

@HabZ360 @JeremyVineOn5 Former wine waiter here. We aren't allowed to drink either. We taste wine. Spit it out more often than not. And what little has been consumed would rarely make up half a glass over a 12 hour shift.

People making comparisons with doctors and policy and pilots not being allowed to drink on the job but mate, NO job allows it. Waiter, call centre, bin man, literally ANY job bar wine tasters allow it. And people pulling out the legalised drugs crap, alcohol is as bad as any class A drug and if people are against alcohol at eork, of course the same applies to any recreational drug 🤦🏾‍♂️ But we know the criticism isn't about that...

When Real Madrid offer Manchester United a gift, there's no guarantees! Look at Varane & Di María! But, on paper, Tchouameni looks like a good signing, so long as Casemiro's wages don't all go on his replacement! @FlexUTD, @JamieJackson___, @alex_crook
Ben Jacobs@JacobsBen

Manchester United add Aurelien Tchouameni to their shortlist, but Real are not ruling out extending his contract. Player is content to stay yet keen to understand how a midfield revamp at Real might affect him. Valued at £70m+ by Real.⚪️ talksport.com/football/42036…

[Long Post] Eighteen months ago, in December 2024, when Rashford, in a carefully constructed interview with Henry Winter, said, "For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps," few expected him to still be contracted to Man Utd in big 2026. He and his brother expected the biggest of clubs to come calling, throw in millions in wages, and make him the face of a new club. He waited the entirety of January 2025 to find a club. No one came forward. Finally, Unai Emery held out a hand for him near the transfer deadline. What followed next was a cacophony of PR exercise. Any half-decent performance was hailed as the greatest thing ever. The bad ones were carefully omitted. All throughout the next five months, we heard just one thing: Villa was just a temporary stopgap. There is no chance the loan would be made permanent. He wanted Barcelona. It was his dream. Summer 2025. The entire summer we heard, 'Rashford only wants Barcelona,' 'He hopes to play for his dream club Barcelona,' 'He will reject offers that aren't from Barcelona.' All these particularly weakened Man Utd's negotiating position, and finally, when Barcelona entered the frame, they offered a loan and no permanent deal. They weren't even prepared to pay his full wages and expected United to cover the costs. After much haggling, United managed to eke out a deal that will have Barca paying his wages with a €30m option at the end of the deal. Pretty cheap for a supposed world-class player at the peak of his powers (or so his media friends depict him), right? He had a good start at Barcelona, played some important games, scored some important goals. But soon after the usual problems arose. Not committed enough, not tracking back, running into blind alleys, not looking up for better options, etc. Barca fans started to grow tired of him. Now it's looking increasingly likely that Barcelona will not be triggering his €30m release clause and are looking elsewhere. He is also approaching 30. and earns far too much to not be a starter. So my question to Rashford is: Was it worth it? Was the entire song and dance worth it? Was that interview with Henry Winter where you facilitated your own exit worth it? When you should have been leading our next generation, you started playing media games. When you should have developed your own game, worked on your shortcomings, built on your superb 2022-23 season, and become a leader of the squad, you instead became a reclusive figure, developing this attitude that you did not want it enough at Utd. All those shenanigans, including Belfast, really let the club down when they were relying on you as one of the more experienced and highest-paid players in the world to deliver like Bruno has been delivering in some of our toughest times. You were one of our own. You should have stayed and broken records with Utd. Instead, you let everyone down, including your own talent. All I ask is, was it worth it?
utdreport@utdreport

Barcelona’s interest in retaining Marcus Rashford has cooled. Barcelona’s sources believe he had a golden opportunity to make his mark this month following Raphinha’s injury but did not fully seize it. The club is already exploring alternative options, although sources close to Rashford say no decision has been formally communicated by the Spanish club. There are also concerns over cost — Barcelona hold a €30m buy option, but as things stand, they do not intend to trigger it [@TheAthleticFC]

Manchester United's players have been warned they'll be banned for up to 18 games if they breath air during the remaining fixtures. It's a new rule introduced this week. It will apply to United, but not opponents.
