Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa- absolute class.
After being briefly denied entry to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Palm Sunday due to wartime restrictions, he didn’t lash out or point fingers.
He recognized the reality, called it a misunderstanding, and kept the focus on safety and faith.
@StellaEscoTV Why did you prevent Muslims from praying in Jerusalem? And today you are preventing the Patriarch from holding prayers in the church. This is your reality: you hate other religions, and the world now knows it.
@StellaEscoTV This update statement reinforces my suspicion that the good Cardinal Pizzaballa tested the boundaries of the Old City shutdown. Catholics have observed this guy since Oct 7, the Rome Synod on Synodality and the new Pope election. He has moxy & isn't afraid to call Israelis out.
@StellaEscoTV He closed down the churches in Israel for a whole year during covid.
Didn't care then did he?
Catholic hypocrites.
Rat lines for nazis, protection for pedophiles.
Pious liar
@StellaEscoTV I suggest Pizzaballa digns and publicly reads a statement in which he relieves Israel from any responsibility and duty towards whoever is going to pray, in case something happens....and then he can go and pray
@StellaEscoTV He is a Christian peacemaker who is try to control the outrage as any good responsible person would do. Doesn’t mean the outrage isn’t justified or warranted
Statement from the Office of @IsraeliPM regarding Jerusalem police preventing Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pizzaballa from holding Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City of Jerusalem:
“Over the past several days, Iran has repeatedly targeted the holy sites of all three monotheistic religions in Jerusalem with ballistic missiles. In one strike, missile fragments crashed just meters from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
As a result, Israel has temporarily asked worshippers from all faiths not to worship at the holy sites in Jerusalem’s Old City to protect them.
Today, out of special concern for his safety, Jerusalem police prevented the Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pizzaballa from holding mass this morning at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Again, there was no malicious intent whatsoever, only concern for his safety and that of his party.
However, given the sacred nature of the week leading up to Easter for Christians around the world, Israel’s security agencies are developing a plan to enable church leaders to worship at the holy site in the coming days.”
I have instructed the relevant authorities that Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch, be granted full and immediate access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
Over the past several days, Iran has repeatedly targeted the holy sites of all three monotheistic religions in Jerusalem with ballistic missiles. In one strike, missile fragments crashed meters from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
To protect worshippers, Israel asked members of all faiths to temporarily abstain from worshipping at the Christian, Muslim and Jewish holy sites in Jerusalem’s Old City.
Today, out of special concern for his safety, Cardinal Pizzaballa was asked to refrain from holding mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Even though I understand this concern, as soon as I learned about the incident with Cardinal Pizzaballa, I instructed the authorities to enable the Patriarch to hold services as he wishes.
@StellaEscoTV The amount of scrutiny focused on Israel while it is fighting jihad on 8 fronts is an embarrassment.
People - you should be PRAISING and SUPPORTING this tiny country who is, whether you acknowledge it or not, fighting for YOU
@LowStudies@StellaEscoTV 😂😂😂 God forbid that the Israelis should try to keep these foolish priests safe. But of course it was a deliberate provocation.
The whole statement, not a screenshot of a clip...
Joint Press Release
The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Custody of the Holy Land
Holy City of Jerusalem
Palm Sunday, 29 March 2026
This morning, the Israeli Police prevented the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Head of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land, together with the Custos of the Holy Land, the Most Reverend Fr. Francesco Ielpo, OFM, the official Guardian of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, as they made their way to celebrate the Palm Sunday Mass.
The two were stopped en route, while proceeding privately and without any characteristics of a procession or ceremonial act, and were compelled to turn back. As a result, and for the first time in centuries, the Heads of the Church were prevented from celebrating the Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
This incident is a grave precedent, and disregard the sensibilities of billions of people around the world who, during this week, look to Jerusalem.

@StellaEscoTV This is why God put Cardinal Pizzaballa in that role.
He knows how to handle these moments with grace — turning toward God instead of losing composure and giving in to hate.
God gave us this shepherd for a reason. He trusts in God and sees the divine in others.
@StellaEscoTV@OurielOhayon He is being exposed for his stunt so he fixes it. He should be recalled.
Too late the hate and lies fuel antisemitism
He knew all was closed. He knew he was creating a PR nightmare.
Here he is, in case people think PR nightmare is harsh
