BEYOND NITRO...IS HERE!
Bestselling author Guy Evans ('NITRO') returns with a monumental 680-page volume on World Championship Wrestling, bringing to light scores of revelatory insights in the process. Informed by over 100 new interviews, hundreds of internal company documents, confidential corporate materials, and never-before-seen financial records, BEYOND NITRO goes to places that no pro wrestling book has!
BEYOND NITRO is divided into three parts, as outlined below:
Part 1: Untold Stories – a series of engrossing personal profiles of people with a unique connection to WCW;
Part 2: Where The Big Boys Played – an examination of various aspects of the WCW story which often escape introspection, such as the byzantine nature of its corporate accounting system, the company’s historical Southern lineage, and the impact of its pioneering production team;
Part 3: A Wrestling Odyssey – a look at some of the changes which occurred in the wrestling business post-WCW, including a noticeable change to the mainstream wrestling style, the proliferation of what is sometimes called ‘the wrestling bubble’, and the phenomena of WCW experiencing a ‘second life’ through the waves of ‘90s nostalgia.
To supplement this rather weighty structure – and to break up the presentation more generally – six ‘interlude’ chapters are included of various lengths, ranging from incredibly detailed (e.g., ‘Spiked!’) to relatively direct in scope (e.g., ‘Don’t Touch That Dial’). In all cases, these ‘interludes’ relate to a theme (or set of themes) explored in the preceding chapter. In the process, the book is able to delve into some thrilling uncharted waters, relative to the world of late ‘90s WWF - and even TNA during the 2010s.
BEYOND NITRO features exclusive interviews and comments from:
Eric Bischoff, fmr. WCW President;

@JohnnyC012312 Unions have both ups and downs. For example most labor unions in Minnesota do not allow overtime. At times this may hinder productivity. #scsu#HRUnion#MGMT352
@CartyPaytin@huskymgmt#hrpayfairness#MGMT352ch12 I completely agree with you. Even an insinuation could lead to a potential legal battle, negative pr, and law suits. Any professional employer must be an equal opportunity, it's the only way in the modern landscape
When it comes to what employees are paid, factors like race, gender, etc. used to play a huge role in the amount given to each employee. This type of discrimination has slowly but surely become less of an issue in the workplace today. #HRpayfairness#MGMT352Ch12@huskymgmt
@kyleharthan1@huskymgmt#HRpay#MGMT352Ch12 thanks for sharing, I see that article was written in early 2019. I wonder how that policy would effect small businesses working on a narrow margin. The research concludes it has little effect. Big companies should offer more pay to counteract disparities
@huskymgmt#MGMT352ch15#HRglobal I have relatives who are union workers, can be beneficial if you're willing to fight for compensation. SCSU has a union. some industries are adverse to unionization such as MMA and wrestling. Not to depict as adversarial some owners are resistant
@huskymgmt#HRunion#MGMT352ch15 unions became critically important in U.S. history during the late 1800s, modern standards are significantly better including pay, collective bargaining, benefits, OT, etc. In 1900 the av. Family had an income of $3,000 (adjusted) life exp. Low!
@huskymgmt#HRpayfairness#MGMT352ch12 pay level, benefits, pay structure, admin, and pay raises can be taboo but are deeply necessary for morale and wellness. Management must have data to validate decisions and keep cooperation and to accurately justify benchmarking
@huskymgmt#HRpay#MGMT352Ch12 I think pay structure is easy to talk about because everyone can relate to benchmarking to make a case for pay rate and comparing inputs to consider fairness
@PaZongMoua1@huskymgmt#hrdevelopment#MGMT352Ch7 60% is pretty shocking. I hate when employers aren't prompt and professional. Especially with how the economy is. If recruitment wants professional recruits they should match that standard
60% of job seekers quit the application. This is shocking, but not surprising for some reason. I'll have to admit that there were times where I needed a job, but quit applying because of how long the process is. Who can relate?

@abby_panek@kkn0717@huskymgmt#hrtraining#mgmt352ch7 so true! tasks worth doing are done poorly initially but through refinement and correction the worker learns. Usually the most is learned by doing things incorrectly
I had a great training team for my job. They showed a lot of patience and realized everyone makes mistakes. I try to combine some of the mannerisms of those people into those I am training today! #HRtraining#MGMT352Ch7
@huskymgmt#fall2020#MGMT352Ch10#HRPerformance Coworkers are an excellent way to get performance info, I can confirm as I don't have an immediate manager in my department and often your peers have the inside scoop on the performance indicators. Attitudes, habits, morale, etc.
@huskymgmt#hrdevelopement#MGMT352Ch7#Fall2020 I was in the 'on the job' training program and I think any exposure to hands on experience is beneficial for the future of young workers. Other programs such as apprenticeships, internships both fulfill the readiness for training
#hrtraining#mgmt352ch7@huskymgmt workers learn when they have strong desire to learn, this is universal and can be applied to work, school, and life. It's a healthy mindset that benefits the individual and organization
@huskymgmt#mgmt352debate#2020fall#AffirmativeAction#closingarguments AA is a requirement to frivolously assign opportunity to race. I mentioned several examples of companies getting it wrong, race isn't an indicator of qualification. Diversity is good but not mandated on race
#affirmativeaction was beneficial when it was introduced in the 60’s, but with the world changing constantly, I think we as a country have outgrown this idea. In fact, some states passed constitutional amendments banning public institutions from practicing affirmative action.
ased on race. Scared to lose fed. funding. All biases against majority white population, even illegal aliens get tuition privileges in 11 states @foxnews its ruined lives. @NPR reported the @TheJusticeDept discriminates against white and asian americans in admissions
@huskymgmt#MGMT352debate#2020fall#AffirmativeAction Position Post: affirmative action is a racially motivated idea that needs to change. It attempts to give people rights based on which group they're in, which oppresses the individual. There's an infinite amount of categories
