I’d like to get a dog. One problem - my wife works from home and she’s the one home all day … and doesn’t have the time to do all the responsible stuff. So that’s kind of a big hurdle.

@StacyBehr @thesav150 Big difference between 90 minutes and 180 minutes. Feels like there’s some room in there for a 120 minute practice. There’s also the “how the practice is run” factor. Our last 30 is often 20 of live with a finisher. The room feels great. Has great energy and pace to it.

@thesav150 Talking all levels. Most people cannot reliably focus for 3 straight hours. Doesn’t matter the level, that’s just how brains work. It’s the same reason school classes are 45-75 min. Doesn’t change just because we are in a wrestling room.

Most wrestling practices are too long, too unfocused, and spend too much time on warmups. A standard practice should be max 60-90 minutes because that is how long most people can focus.

@Freshpet always an empty shelf for the large bag. The small bag costs nearly 60% more. Something has to be done.

@Freshpet been out of big bags at all stores for weeks. Consider running a three bag special at a discount. The situation seems inappropriate. Not going to change food, but $45 for less quantity is getting difficult with the big bag shelf always bare. Thank you.

I love the analysis, and most people don’t understand the significant financial loss by all sports teams other than Football, Basketball, and some women’s basketball programs. Wrestling is one of the few sports where Olympic training can add $$, but most programs aren’t great at it.

@colin_dunlap Is she moving into freestyle/greco next? The season starts immediately after youth states. It’s the best place to keep the learning continuing after her first Folkstyle season.

So proud of this girl — and her teammates — as her first season comes to an end. The lessons learned about respect in both wins and losses, hard work and understanding how to push beyond your perceived limits are things wrestling has taught her. We are proud of her dedication.

@sockobuw I did it for me. I encourage young people I coach to do it for the same reason. Conversely, I once coached a young man at the high school level who used to crawl on his hands and knees back to center 🤦🏻‍♂️

I was guilty at one point of my coaching career of this violation. Hustling back to the center has never scored a single point in the history of wrestling.

We’re gonna have a bunch of hard ass hs dads tweeting “shoulda followed the rules”. If you think this warrants a ref inserting himself into the dual during the last match you gotta rethink what you value in wrestling.

I did the math and breakdown. Allegheny County taxpayers pay almost $700,000/year for public relations people/public information officers. In my estimation, some of these positions could be combined or even eliminated. It seems like overkill, especially during a 36% tax hike.

Good luck to those on the first day of high school winter sports season in Pennsylvania. Especially the wrestlers. I have infinite respect for the young men and women who elect to undertake that endeavor. The mental strength, physical demands and dedication are all unmatched.

I don’t have much following, so not sure much will come of this. My car insurance(with no accidents) has increased 38% over the past year. Interested in everyone else’s experience. Nothing political, just a curiosity.
