🔥 UNHINGED: UF Chair Mori Hosseini Came Unhinged at Yesterday’s BOG Meeting After Having UF’s Governance Standards Called Into Question For Granting Him Inappropriate Power The Florida University System’s Board of Governors kicked off its two-day meeting yesterday afternoon with its Governance Committee. The meeting drew attention in Florida politics following a letter issued last week by BOG Chair Alan Levine, which raised concerns about the University of Florida Trustees having delegated too much authority to its Chair, Mori Hosseini. It comes after Levine received the findings of a review of the governance standards at each of its 12 public universities, which looked at whether trustees had delegated inappropriate authority to their respective chairs in violation of BOG regulations. The findings showed UF trustees made sweeping changes to its governance standards in 2025, placing significant power and operational control of the university under Chair Mori Hosseini. @UF is on its 3rd president in 3 years. A unanimously selected presidential candidate and the State of Florida’s flagship university are being drawn into a dispute unrelated to his candidacy. That is unfair to Dr. Bell and harmful to the University of Florida and the students, faculty, alumni, and supporters we are entrusted to serve. Equally concerning is that a decision of this magnitude has been made unilaterally rather than by the full Board of Governors. Delaying consideration of the unanimously approved president designate of Florida’s flagship university is a consequential action that should be decided by the Board of Governors as a body, not by a single individual acting alone. The University of Florida cannot afford to remain in limbo while these matters are addressed. Accordingly, within the coming week, the Board of Trustees will meet to consider naming Dr. Bell Interim President so that the university can continue moving forward while this issue is addressed."
