Genuinely for all the Knick fans out there today. Have always been hyped to see long-suffering fanbases get their moment, and can only imagine how amazing this one is for NYers. Should be an insanely good series

I wrote about the Knicks, the truly insane run they're on, and whether they're good enough to win the title.

The Knicks winning it all would be really awesome. Incredibly likable team

Not sure there's a great precedent for this Knicks playoff run? With young teams, sort of. But a veteran team just waking up one day and playing like the '96 Bulls for 11 games and running?

I am so incredibly happy for Knicks fans. 1994 was one of the most gut-wrenching Finals losses in NBA history. Not getting back again until 1999, when Ewing had a torn Achilles and they were close to drawing dead to the Duncan-Robinson Spurs was a different type of cruelty. And somehow never truly coming close in any season since then should have just been unfathomable. Instead, it was entirely predictable and at various times they were a national punch line. To turn this season around from what it seemed like it was going to be (another promising but inevitably disappointing season), into what it became (the single most dominant month of playoff basketball from a margin of victory standpoint in the history of the NBA), is truly remarkable. I am picking the Knicks in the Finals but more importantly I’ll be rooting for the Knicks in the Finals. The NYC hoops fans deserve this moment.

Wrote about my 10 years at Disney. Mostly focused on their mismanagement of the FiveThirtyEight brand with more detail than I've spoken about publicly before. Not gonna lie, this felt kind of cathartic. natesilver.net/p/disney-erase…

What evidence is there that it works? Ackman is a nepo baby, and I'd expect him to underperform index funds absent inside information and possibly even *with* inside information given how much of a tool he is.
Hooman@hoomansv

I like how Ackman’s entire strategy now is just to find whichever Mag 7 name the market is currently bored with, buy it in the low 20s p/e, wait for the narrative to shift, exit in the high 30s, then rinse and repeat. I mean it works so why not

@rBillSimmonsPod Joel as in the constantly aggrieved/brow-furrowing guy from The Press Box? That’s an enormous bummer.

@chris_teez26 @rBillSimmonsPod Honestly feel like Joel may not like movies. They asked him at the end what movie he does like. Struggle to come up with an answer. Never heard of the movie he mentioned.

@jaycaspiankang He's playing the long game. Grizzlies #3 pick in a 3-player draft will revive interest in an a basketball-dedicated Nashville arena. Grizz move there, Vandy becomes top 10 program with some sort of revshare kickback.

Seems like Silver made this lotto look as random as possible to throw people off the trail of Luka and the Dallas pick. That shit won’t work on me I still believe

PG&E and @Tesla have just announced that the Cybertruck, Tesla Powershare Gateway and Tesla Universal Wall Connector have all been approved for participation in PG&E's residential Vehicle‑to‑Everything (V2X) program, marking a major milestone for bidirectional EV integration in California. This marks the first AC vehicle-to-grid application approved for customers in California, enabling vehicles to connect using much simpler equipment rather than specialized DC infrastructure. PG&E customers with Cybertrucks will now be able to use their vehicle to power their home in an outage and earn money by selling power back to the electric grid during grid events. "Electric vehicles can do more than move people—they can help power homes and support the grid," said Jason Glickman, Executive VP of Strategy and Growth, PG&E. "By welcoming Tesla into our residential V2X program, we're expanding customer choice while making California's grid more flexible, resilient, and affordable. Powershare Grid Support enables Tesla vehicles to strengthen our electricity system, while earning money for EV owners." More info below:
