Inne upamiętnienia zostały. W trakcie prac remontowych bloku 15 w Muzeum Auschwitz zdemontowano dwie tablice: upamiętnienie bohaterów Armii Krajowej z wielkim znakiem Polski Walczącej oraz tablicę poświęconą polskim harcerzom zamordowanym w obozie. Tablice ufundowali byli więźniowie - ludzie, którzy przeżyli obóz i własnymi pieniędzmi zadbali o pamięć po swoich towarzyszach. W odsłonięciu tablicy AK brała udział Zofia Pilecka-Obtułowicz, córka rotmistrza Witolda Pileckiego. Tablica powstała 22 kwietnia 1995 roku. Prace remontowe się zakończyły. Tablice nie wróciły. Rzecznik muzeum wyjaśnił: umieszczanie tablic na ścianach poobozowych budynków "ingeruje w historyczną substancję". Tablice zostaną poddane konserwacji i umieszczone w "dedykowanym miejscu". Kiedy?
