AI-generated child abuse imagery + child sex abuse dolls are not harmless substitutes for ‘real’ child sexual abuse material – offenders use them in conjunction with abuse material of actual children. Jeffrey Sewell, 42, was found with AI-generated CSAM, two child sex abuse dolls and ‘nearly 10,000 images and 230 videos, including a “significant” number featuring real children from existing collections online of child sexual abuse material known to police’. Police found four child sex abuse dolls at Sewell’s home, including two dolls that resembled kids between the ages of four and ten. One was found in a bed dressed in pink pyjamas and holding a stuffed animal. ‘Some of the "deeply disturbing" content recovered on his devices showed young girls, real and computer-generated, "crying or trying to avoid what was being inflicted on them”’, said the Judge.
