@SGgrc Your conclusion in ep 913 makes no sense. Are you suggesting that following Chick-fil-A’s removal of the Facebook login, 73k users revived their CFA accounts by simply reusing their FB login passwords, and also happened to have had their FB credentials previously stolen?

“A Fowl Incident” Security Now! #913 show notes: grc.com/sn/sn-913-note… After answering a large grab bag of interesting questions presented by the past week's events, we examine the surprising revelation that's strongly suggested by the recent successful attack on Chick-fil-A.

@sorum @1Password That's why you should never use corporate phone numbers for personal, non-work related accounts.

@1Password There's an additional risk that many working in tech hadn't thought of until very recently... What happens if you get laid off and you've used your corporate phone number as your SMS 2FA ? That phone number gets disconnected faster than you can say "locked out of my account"

POV: you’re setting up 2FA and the only option is SMS. 🫣

@SGgrc if it’s true that most people struggle to choose and remember master passwords with more than 40-50 bits of entropy, then shouldn’t more password managers follow @1Password’s lead in securing vaults with a Secret Key, which is an additional 128 bits?

@jon_exists @mitsuhiko Unfortunately, the DOCTYPE can never be removed entirely. The distinctions between quirks mode and no-quirks mode are here to stay. So it was made almost as short as possible. <!DOCTYPEhtml> is shorter and also worked (just not valid, and looked stupid) lists.whatwg.org/pipermail/what…

I don't remember who came up with this, but I still think that the doctype simplification in HTML5 is one of the biggest but quietest quality of life improvements.

Why is everyone I hear in Australian media mispronouncing #Omicron as “ommycron”? I even heard some say “Omnicron”.

@Telstra I already know your systems show no current disruptions. Your systems are wrong. Send someone to Westfield, Miranda on the weekend with some phones to experience this for themselves. Stop making excuses. Go and diagnose and fix the fucking issue already.

@Lachy No, that's not what I suggested. I mentioned some building materials can have impacts on coverage. No current disruptions impacting mobile services there. There is some upcoming maintenance, but that's all. If you're having trouble, best to report here via the link I provided.

For the sixth weekend in a row, anyone connected to @Telstra is unable to use the #ServiceNSW App to check in or do anything on the Telstra network while walking around inside Westfield Miranda. Unacceptable “Australia’s best network”

@Telstra Been on the phone with Telstra Support about this for weeks. I just asked them point blank if they even sent someone out into the field with a phone to test the experience for themselves. They told me NO! Only remote diagnostics. Get your act together Telstra. Stop making excuses

@tanya_plibersek @AustralianLabor no-one in Australia wants a pledge of allegiance in public schools. We’re a multi-cultural country with people from all over the world attending our schools. We shouldn’t force anyone to pledge allegiance to any country. #auspol

Warren accused Sanders of saying sexist comments. Bernie didn't. Warren is upset because she thinks Bernie called her a liar on national TV. Bernie didn't. Warren fell right into CNN's trap to start a fight, then fanned the flames some more. Bernie didn't. #Warrensmearbackfire

@WolfAnthony26 Nope. @ewarren was accusing @BernieSanders of calling her a liar on national TV. So much for her de-escalation. But I mostly blame CNN for bringing the issue into the spotlight in an attempt to divide them up. Unfortunately Warren took the bait #CNNIsTrash

@ProudResister Of course Warren could beat Trump if she gets the nomination, and she’d be a great president if she did. But many of her policy positions are not as strong as Sanders’, who actually won the debate yesterday, despite the clear bias against him. #CNNisTrash

I was looking forward to seeing @CWPennandTeller in Australia in January, but the tour has been cancelled for medical reasons. Get well soon @MrTeller. I hope you will be able to arrange another tour here in the future.
