I don't understand why the US is permitting Iranian ships to pass through the Hormuz straits while the Iranians are not permitting American ships to pass. The straits should be open either to everyone or no one.

@C_3C_3 Look at the salaries at the head of these NGO's. They are not calibrated to the work required, but to the amount of the grant. That fact tells you the real intent of these "Saints."

I always knew there was fraud with our tax dollars but I never knew the fraud was this bad. DOGE and Nick Shirley opened my eyes. Then the reaction from the Left opened them wider. It seems like at least 50%-75% of our tax dollars go to fraud. Did you know it was this bad?

Someone disagreed with my recent take that the Trump presidency will do more long-term damage to the US than 9/11 and its aftermath. But stuff like this is why I mean that. He has broken America in irreparable ways, and shredded alliances & soft power generations had built.
Phillips P. OBrien@PhillipsPOBrien

Trump has decimated the Atlantic alliance and ended 80 years of American success. And this tweet is pathetic as well. A historic moment wrapped up in a petty whinge.

@TonyLaneNV I doubt he'll serve it all, but he's definitely an adult at 18. Was he a repeat offender? The revolving door policies of judges, fashionable today has just increased the level of violence, theft and mayhem. He should have trained to be a trucker, they hire all the time.

18 YEARS OLD… 25 YEARS IN PRISON A Texas teen just got hit with 25 years for a convenience store robbery. The judge made it clear - probation wasn’t even on the table due to his previous record while being held in jail. Said he didn’t have a real chance at success outside. His family broke down in court as the sentence was handed down. At 18… your whole life is just starting - But one decision can change everything forever. Do you think this sentence fits the crime… or is it too much? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@Kingbingo_ Comically short sighted to think a nuclear armed Iran could use the straits to play with the wold's oil supply/price....

Comically short sighted first-order thinking. Hormuz isn’t just oil/LNG: it’s helium, fertiliser inputs, petrochem feedstocks, industrial gases. You don’t get ‘no fuel’, you get cascading industrial failure of which the US is the largest global node. And if the US stops underwriting sea lanes, you’re eroding the very system (petrodollar) that US power sits on.
Michael A. Arouet@MichaelAArouet

The US is energy independent. It can do whatever it wants Europe sacrificed its economy, relevance, and foremost geopolitical security at the altar of the green religion. It will get really nasty now. Don't blame Trump, you did it to yourself. Blame your left-green politicians.

Only 10 undocumented immigrants have successfully cast ballots over the last 25 years. There are more Trump allies in the Epstein files than there are undocumented immigrants voting. The SAVE America Act is a voter suppression bill that protects Trump and his Epstein allies.
Ted Cruz@tedcruz

Democrats are trying to stop the SAVE America Act because they want illegal aliens to vote for them. That’s bad for America. We need to pass the SAVE America Act.

Europe told Trump and Vance, clearly and seriously, that Russia’s war against Ukraine and its hybrid warfare campaign across the continent represents the greatest security threat Europe has faced since 1945. Europe said this as a NATO ally. As a partner of seven decades. As a bloc that has housed American bases, funded American adventures, and sent its sons to die in American wars without much complaint. Trump and Vance looked at this and said: not our problem. It’s happening on your continent. We have important things to attend to. The important things turned out to be nothing. There were no important things. There was golf, there was television, and there was a remarkable amount of time spent being angry about things on the internet. Then, approximately some months later, the same administration announced it intended to seize Greenland. A sovereign territory. From a NATO ally. By force if necessary. So to summarise: defending Europe from an actively invading nuclear power is not America’s problem. Illegally annexing a Danish island in the Arctic is apparently a matter of urgent national interest. Now. If anyone in the MAGA universe is sitting there expecting Europe to provide diplomatic cover, logistical support, intelligence sharing, or a single sympathetic press release for whatever America is currently doing in the Middle East, I have some news for you. You told us you weren’t our allies. We were listening. You don’t get to turn the alliance on and off depending on which direction the aggression is pointing. That is not how it works. That is not how any of this works. Europe will not be helping. Europe will be watching. You made that bed. Enjoy it. Stay connected, Follow Gandalv @Microinteracti1

@OunkaOnX Did Tucker ask Kent why the Iranians didn't allow unimpeded inspections by the IAEA? They could have cleared the worry, but chose to bury the facilities deep under a mountain. Draw your own conclusions...

Tucker: "Was Iran about to get a nuke?" Kent: "No. They've had a religious ruling against it since 2004. We had no intelligence that it was being disobeyed." So the entire war-the thousands dead, the billions spent, the American soldiers buried-was based on nothing. No nukes. No threat. Just a lie sold to justify a war that was always for Israel

Iran isn’t going to allow normal traffic through the Strait of Hormuz until the U.S. and Israel stop the war—and even then, the flow might not reach pre-war levels. The U.S., in turn, won’t stop the war until it has confidence that Hormuz will be re-opened (among other things). Normally, diplomats would be trying to explore whether a mutually-acceptable arrangement could turn this scenario into a reality. Unfortunately, Iran has been burned by Trump’s diplomacy twice before; Trump seems to favor escalation over a deal; and Israel wants to destroy the regime, not see other countries make deals with it. Where do we go from here?

@RoKhanna Yes, but one successful nuclear strike with a ballistic missile perfected by Iran's considerable missile industry would wipe out that number 10 times over. Waiting to attack Iran would have increased the threat to our fleet by Chinese supplied anti ship ballistic missiles.

It's not "rooting against America" to point out that after 3 weeks of this war, it's clear the Trump WH didn't plan for Hormuz to be closed, a major strategic blunder. Trump attacked Iran with no allied support. We had no plan to evacuate Americans in the region. No pre-positioned Marines to secure the strait and ensure flow of oil. If you liked the quagmires in Iraq and Afghanistan, you’re going to love Iran.

This is the leader of Europe’s largest economy telling Trump: ‘You didn't ask us, you don't have a plan, and we are no longer following you into the dark.' Chancellor Friedrich Merz: "To this day, there is no convincing concept of how this operation could succeed. Washington did not consult us and deemed European assistance unnecessary. Ladies and gentlemen, we would have advised against pursuing this road the way it has been pursued at present. We do not want, dear colleagues, for this war to become a burden on the transatlantic partnership. We want this partnership, and we need it. That is why we are engaging in dialogue with Washington at all levels. In doing so, we are following what I stated a month ago at the Munich Security Conference: We are seeking transatlantic agreement. Therefore, I have always made it clear: We share important goals with the USA. But we must not, and will not, shy away from honestly telling our partners where we see things differently and where we have different interests. Such a partnership must withstand this, otherwise it is not a partnership, dear colleagues."

@TimothyDSnyder No, the huge spending increases since Covid are part of it. The other is " a program for everything " philosophy. And 2 more: NGO bosses collect on the size of the grant, not the work required, and the rampant fraud shows no-one cares or checks how it is spent.

@AQuartermain @CBoTheEggman No, the vast majority of spending is always domestic spending. The Democrat trick is to fund all this stuff and then collect kickbacks from the NGO's. The NGO beads salaries are based on the revenue stream and not the work done.

Trump’s America is an America no one wants to come to, invest in, visit, work in, go to school in, seek refuge/asylum in, partner with, become a citizen of, do business with, vacation in, and even be an ally of. All the data since Trump was sworn in confirms this. MAGA, MAGA.👇

Many conservatives are remembering how Paul Ehrlich was wrong about all his enviro-pessimism and supposed constraints on growth, but all those views are the same concerns that fuel the anti-immigrant movement. Zero sum. Fixed pie. Misanthropy. People as "takers," not makers.
Iain Murray@ismurray

Let us not forget that for years Paul Ehrlich was an adviser to the anti-immigrant group FAIR, and is therefore partly responsible for the current anti-immigrant hysteria. This also may be the first time I have ever cited SPLC... splcenter.org/resources/extr…
