@DocStrangelove2 I think Ernst Jünger wrote on how kinda fucked up ww1 was, but he seems to have felt genuinely happy to have experienced it, as he talks fondly on all the experiences, sadness, horror and loss, as well as acts of bravery and camaraderie.
