Pilning Station 🌻🇺🇦@PilningStation
Today marks the 5th anniversary of the tragic loss of the #Pilning footbridge, ripped away from us by @networkrailwest and their accomplices. The removal of the #footbridge left a gaping hole between the platforms and in our hearts 💔

@every_station @northernassist So, there's your future house too 😀

On Monday 29th March at 1128 you’ll find me alighting a train at this station to take a leisurely walk along the beach...
When you visit Cumbria, never forget to visit Nethertown!!!
@northernassist, without a shadow of a doubt, the best station on your network 😍
Scotland, United Kingdom 🇬🇧 English

@every_station @northernassist I thought that may have been the case. I'm surprised the other platform face has survived being fenced off for the past 50+ years.
I can feel some research coming on.. 😀
English

@ManVsTrain @northernassist It’s currently only platform 1 the doors open on. I believe platform 2 hasn’t been used for boarding or alighting since the days of the Lakeside branch line back in the 60s. Back in them days both sides opened to allow east cross platform connections for the branch line.

Time to head north with @northernassist
Train 1 of 4 today this will be for me, the only one that’s not gonna be a 156.

@woodvale_waze @ccityplanner12 @TfL @SiemensMobility Perhaps somebody said during design, if big windows between pillars are not required structurally, please reduce them 😕
If the reason for small windows is increased efficiency of the air con, then the logical conclusion must be that no windows would be more efficient still..
English

@ccityplanner12 @TfL @SiemensMobility Agreed! There's a lot of the Piccadilly Line that runs above ground and being able to look out is important to avoid any feeling of claustraphobia. If thick pillars between windows are not required structurally, please reduce them.
English

@LiamsTransport1 Windows that open and amply cushioned seats.. What's not to like 😀
English

@DsTrains Yup mate.
Make them look like they're 6 inch cushions when in reality they'll be barely an inch. We're used to it now.
Like a lot of new trains, beauty is in the arse of the beholder..
