Taken aback by the Belfast Telegraph’s “Visuals Editor’, Kevin Scott, insulting me while simultaneously decrying the so-called “abuse” I levelled at someone else (total nonsense). Similarly, Garrett Hargan went on a rant and then blocked me. Odd behaviour from both.

Worst part about this is that the quarter-zip I'm wearing there is actually my husband's (his initials on it) and because of this he's now remembered that I lost it on him 🤦🏼‍♀️😭😂

@niamh_journo You’ve every right to say and write what you like Niamh, although it shows along with other pieces that you’re a nationalist activist disguised as a journalist. You were never going to support Jamie’s points, especially when you wear GAA clothes and support the GAA yourself.

@Matthew19Dillon @niamh_journo I'm very calm tintin, it's a new account. Now get those old joggers on sweetpea and get your brushes out. An education is probably too much for you at this point.

@darrenleckey @GarethBurns18 Posting videos of those with mental health issues getting abused all for clicks and views is Gareth’s proposal. All for his narcissistic personality.

@GarethBurns18 What do you propose as a means to help tackle the mental health crisis in the Strangford area?

@niamh_journo 2 retweets from you retweet posts labelling Matthew’s critiques as abuse. Misogyny is a real and prevalent problem, although the word has been misused in this whole conversation and its value has been lost.

Last thing I’ll say on this: no one critiques my writing more than me - I’m always trying to improve, & it's subjective anyway! But I did win a UK-wide sports writing award… & a GAA story helped get me there 😉 (Dharmesh had to present it virtually as it was lockdown!)

Very poorly written piece. Lacks coherent argument and demonstrates a low capability in writing long articles. Sad!

@GarethBurns18 @niamh_journo @fobakesbadly And that’s not getting into your tweeted mocking Alison about her talking about domestic abuse. The narcissism from you is unbelievable. As I said, a donkey wouldn’t want your insight.

@Matthew19Dillon @niamh_journo @fobakesbadly It was not about unionists or females. It was about discourse at 1am. Read the description, and please do not frame it in a selective way. It was based on the time, not on the individuals.

So I'm wearing East Belfast GAA gear in thon screenshot and if you had done your research right you would've found that I also played for the club, and was a part of their senior ladies' (first ever) championship win back in 2021. I don't hide that. In fact, I'm very proud 😊

Man calls out so-called “abuse” while simultaneously dishing out insults. These people are remarkable. If you and your colleagues can’t handle critique, I suggest you get out of the journalistic field.
Kevin Scott@Kscott_94

The level of abuse that has been waged at my colleague @niamh_journo for her great piece this weekend is staggering. Niamh's response to the moon-howlers sums up her professionalism. As for NI's answer to Jacob Rees-Mogg, he should take a good, long, hard look at himself.

@matthew_shanks1 Just goes to show Matthew, those big bad prods shouldn’t dare be challenging the nationalist dominated media or the Sectarian and divisive GAA.

@GarethBurns18 @niamh_journo @fobakesbadly Yes Gareth, we all need your insight. Just not the type of insight where you stick up a clip of a female unionist being abused on your Twitter space in a public Twitter for clicks and views. A donkey wouldn’t want your insight 👍

So sad, especially after the Comber situation last year. There is a concerning lack of insight or strategy. Simply about Living together and winning hearts and minds across the board. Nobody has tried harder to do that than your club, both for Children and for Adults. Unionism / Loyalism has to call it out and @BeattieDoug most notably did so last year. Otherwise they will see their extra transfers disappear like snow off a ditch in 2027. Call this out once and for all and any harassment that this Club has had. Speak up, new leader @JonBurrowsMLA, and all of Unionism. Please try to think beyond next week, never mind the next election. It was a form of apartheid to see our Children from a variety of backgrounds having to play games together in a Government-run compound instead of at a normal Community event that welcomed Everybody. @JamieBrysonLLB @JimAllister @GRobinsonDUP @OrangeOrder @mervgib. As an Independent Candidate I am calling it out regardless of Anybody’s identity or Constitutional position. There’s a way through all of this and I will be supported to walk it in Strangford. There is a path which needs to be cleared and aspired towards. Together we will find a way through.

We truly are living in interesting times! These days, it’s apparently “abuse” to say you don’t believe a journalist’s writing style lends well to longer articles. Journalists can offer an opinion, but people can’t have an opinion on their writing, got it. Make it make sense!

This is absolutely Shameful. I've never seen anything like the vile insults and abuse hurled at Matthew @matthew_shanks1 by Irish republican nationalist thugs, hiders, and Sinn Féin bots. Every decent person must call this out NOW @paulahicks27 👇👇

@PaulKel79494744 @Kscott_94 @niamh_journo It’s a dig mocking both Matthew’s appearance and politics. This all goes to show how nationalist politically dominated our media in Northern Ireland is.

@niamh_journo I’m not saying you should be afraid of wearing your GAA jersey. We should all be proud of culture you’re hardly a neutral commentator when it comes to the GAA Why not interview the unionist students at Queens University and listen to their experiences instead of dismissing them?
