Pleased to share our recent publication in BMJ Pediatrics Open. We developed and validated a machine-learning based model for early recognition of early onset sepsis in neonates using a large dataset. Use of our model could reduce antibiotic exposure with 90% sensitivity.

I will be failing in my basic duty as a doctor and a clinical researcher if I do not call out the misinformation going on about the HPV vaccination. Lines need to be drawn where political and ideological interests cannot influence public health decisions. (1/n)

This is the story of Dr. Sivaranjani Santosh, a paediatrician from Hyderabad, who fought for 8 years against sugar-rich drinks falsely marketed as ORS. Her persistence led to FSSAI’s landmark order, protecting children and patients from misleading claims. “These drinks had 10x the sugar WHO recommends, worsening diarrhoea and complications in millions of kids,” she explains. Her 8-year battle changed the game for public health and children across India. What is sad is that it took 8 years for the government and regulator to understand that these so-called ORS drinks were harmful to children. We need to have quicker public health reforms.
