@CowFan01 @LouStagner Augusta is rated as a very difficult course but not even top 5 difficulty on tour every year. Even with cameras and crowds I don’t see a low single digit going out and making 10s.

Let's assume a 2.5 index (not a vanity index!). Assuming Augusta has course rating of 78 and slope of 155, the course handicap is 9. Golfers of all skill levels will tend to average ~3 shots above course handicap. This takes our hero to an average of 12 over par. Let's add an additional 10 shots of difficulty kicker on top of that. That puts them at an average of 22 over par per round. They would average 94 strokes each round. 88 over par over 4 rounds. They started at a 100 under par, went 88 over, and end up finishing at 12 under par. 12 under wins 6 of the last 10 events outright, plus one event where 12 under ties for the lead. Is 10 shots enough of a kicker? For some I think it would be. They won't get in too much trouble off the tee, it's the greens that will provide the biggest pucker factor...

Here was the debate last night: non tournament tested club golfer with low single digit GHIN starts the masters at -100. Does he win? My answer is a strong no chance.

@LouStagner Remember that there is NO MAX, unlike in handicap calculations. I can easily see a few 10s on a Par 4 or 5 during the four days. Handicap treats them as net double bogeys, but the score would be much higher.

@Fee_le_Buddhist @MidwestGolfJake @zagnut I think that’s why paying attention to low point on Trackman is important. I pay less attention to where the ball goes on trackman than I do about 6 important metrics to my current swing that can tend to cause issues for me.

@MidwestGolfJake @zagnut The problem is you’re hitting of mats presumably indoors, training your game with that give. Then you go to grass and it’s totally different.

Other than staying somewhat in golf shape, indoor golf is worthless. None of what I was doing on Trackman has translated to outside golf. I don't regret playing indoors all winter but disappointed the goodness doesn't translate. Before anyone asks, yes I'm using RCT golf balls

Wesley Bryan and I got into a heated argument about what the majority of people’s favorite club is. I will stand firm and say it’s a 7 iron. There’s something about that club that’s very different than an 8 and 6. Wesley said a driver or 60 degree is the majority favorite. Who’s right here?

@TourSwingsTommy That big down cock must be great for speed and poor for consistency. GW doesn't seem to contend very often over his long career.

It’s hard to comprehend the amount of speed Gary Woodland generates from such a soft move. I didn’t believe it, so I had to look it up: He’s currently number one in clubhead speed in 2026—at 41 years old… Ahead of young bombers like Michael Brennan and Aldrich Potgieter.

This is the best takedown of "No Kings" I've seen yet. "You just hate what you're told to hate..." "I just wish the anti-authoritarian energy was present during actual tyranny." 🔥

@Onlyam_sUnIl08 @Breaking911 Doesn’t work that way with voting. Your right to vote is also a right that your vote counts the same as everyone else’s. If you open it up to fraud you are infringing on everyone else’s right to vote.
