@opinion_joe I read an excerpt from a piece you did for @TheFP. In it you said "White men have made sure to take care of themselves, and to hell with anybody else." I ask you, is there a culture other than white men who have fought and died for the freedom of slaves of another race, as White men did in the civil war? Who was first to outlaw slavery? White men? Or men from another race or culture? Is there a race or culture other than one started and still majority controlled by white men that allows those from other cultures and races reach the pinnacle of leadership within their society? Their success while doing those things certainly doesn't constitute, "to hell with everyone else".

Meet the niece of deceased Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani—and learn something about a regime that lives in two worlds at once. Marco Rubio has (yes!) terminated the legal permanent resident status of Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter. Her husband has also been barred from entering the United States. Soleimani Afshar was an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime while living in the United States—leading a lifestyle that, in Iran, can get a woman jailed. Her posts praised attacks on American forces, endorsed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and repeated regime slogans, including denunciations of the United States as the “Great Satan.” She also publicly supported Iran’s new Supreme Leader. At the same time, she documented a comfortable lifestyle in Los Angeles on her now-deleted Instagram account.

@the_missing_n0 @SenWarren Can you provide an example other than COVID vaccines (the vaccine mandates were not capitalism, they were corruption and tyranny of government).

Yes, but money will stop following bad ideas and products. With capitalism, if Blackrock buys a business that customers don't want to buy from, they are going to lose business, Blackrock is going to lose their investors money, money managers get fired, and similar ideas get mothballed. Conversely, Blackrock's investments where customers see value and are willing to pay get duplicated.

@Millennialtics @SenWarren Private equity does cause problems as do large investment companies steering everything towards money now vs long time loyalty. We see it a lot with companies like Blackrock. Admittedly Red Lobster still had a lot of problems.

@rscadence @Hickenlooper @grok At the end of 24' markets knew Trump would be president, Wall Street pricing accounted for that. You're asking the wrong question.

@SenWarren As Capitalism does, banks will tighten controls and requirements for these types of deals. Investors who lost significant amounts will scrutinize more throughout the entire industry.

The lovely women of @TheView decided yesterday to attack me on air repeatedly by name. They smeared my wonderful husband, made assumptions about my beautiful daughter, and attempted to paint me as a racist for encouraging other young people to seek marriage and motherhood in their lives, too. In the process, they demeaned any young woman who finds our primary joy or purpose in our families over our paychecks. In their words, "we've come too far" to allow this line of thinking, and they want to "send me back to the past" for "telling women to have as many kids as they want to." This demonic, evil, dark attack demands a response. & it's coming this evening on The Isabel Brown Show.

Civics refresher — how U.S. presidents can use military force without Congress A lot of people think the President needs Congress’s permission every time the U.S. uses military force. That’s not how U.S. law actually works. Since the War Powers Resolution of 1973, every president of both parties has ordered limited military action without prior congressional approval — and done so legally. Examples include: • Ronald Reagan (Grenada, Libya) • Bill Clinton (Kosovo) • Barack Obama (Libya, Syria) • Donald Trump (Syria, Iran) • Joe Biden (Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen) So how is this legal? Because the law allows it. Under the Constitution, the President is Commander in Chief. Under the War Powers Resolution, a president: ✔️ May initiate limited military action to defend U.S. forces, citizens, or national interests ✔️ Does NOT need advance congressional approval to do so ✔️ Must notify Congress within 48 hours ✔️ Must end the operation within 60 days (plus 30 days to withdraw) unless Congress authorizes continuation Congress still has power — but it’s after the fact, not before: • Congress can order withdrawal • Congress can cut off funding • Congress can pass (or deny) an authorization for continued war If Congress does nothing, the action stands. This isn’t a loophole. It’s been the settled system for over 50 years, used by Democrats and Republicans alike. You can oppose a specific action — but pretending it’s illegal just because you dislike the president isn’t serious constitutional thinking. This is how the law actually works.

I just left the Venezuela briefing. It's worse than you thought. Oil company executives seem to know more about Trump's secret plan to "run" Venezuela than the American people. We need public Senate hearings NOW.

Trump ran for office saying he would lower costs on day one. Instead, he's driven up costs on health care. He's driven up costs on housing. He's driven up costs on groceries. He's driven up costs on utilities. Via @SenWarren

@RepDianaDeGette The most compassionate Care, is for children to feel comfortable in the bodies nature and gave them. It is child abuse and disastrous for their mental state to tell them they can be something else.

This administration is making wildly unreasonable demands of Denver Health and Children's Hospital Colorado, forcing them to stop critical care for kids who need it. These threats put kids' mental and physical health at risk — jeopardizing their ability to get the care they need. The safety of our children is not up for debate. If the administration finalizes these cruel policies, I'll introduce legislation to overturn them. denverpost.com/2026/01/06/chi…

Secretary Kennedy upending the pediatric vaccine schedule will put countless young lives at risk of completely preventable diseases. Kennedy’s obsession with health conspiracies and politicization of vaccine science is dangerous, and his incompetence has no place in our government. washingtonpost.com/health/2026/01…
