@Pataramesh It looks like the missile fuse was faulty resulting in premature detonation but the warhead didn't quite explode. Anyway, the F-18 probably running on fumes could just operate near the eastern coast.

@SchollFused @Pataramesh They doing that to evade air defence, iran borders will not have expensive air defence there obly cheap ones and manpads,good for drones and keep jets from entering deeper .

@Pataramesh A good question would also be why these jets are engaging in low altitude strafing to begin with? Also, if they indeed start strafing at higher altitude, will Iran's AD systems be at a disadvantage?

@Pataramesh But worrying signs here, the US seems to be preparing/clearing for a future landing. And with little to no resistance from Iranian AD their strike package can deliver serious damage.

@jtester1974 @Pataramesh That can effect laser guided weapons, but for stuff like JDAM they have SAR /GMTI and GPS/INS that don't care about clouds.

@MarkKoekkelkor1 @Pataramesh Yeah, those will not enter iran air space,only f16 f15 f18 will enter border regions.iran didn't put the expensive air defence there only cheap low cost one's they can shut down drones and keep jets from entering deeper in Iran.

@Pataramesh It bothers me that in spite of multiple hits, not a single aircraft has yet been captured. Imagine the psychological effect if Iran had F-35 wreckage

@t_toghrul @Pataramesh Maybe there was 2 but with no confirmation,but it's because jets are only flying in border and iran doesn't put their expensive air defence there,only small types of air defence and manpads.

@Pataramesh matter fact, as for now, except for UAVs, not a single jet has been shot down. So much investments into air defense..

@hosamalkrbash الشي المستغرب اذا ايران بدفاعاتها المتواضعه تمكنت من تحييد بعض الطائرات فلماذا روسيا الى الان لم تدمر الطاىئرات الاوكرانيه ولم تاسر طيارين....
