So US has just <160 Interceptors now, thanks to isræl I guess lol.. another Iran round & its over PLA has around ~ 440 HQ19 midcourse/terminal Interceptors, potentially >600 if some rumoured battalions also get confirmed this year.. assuming an very conservative 1x reload

John Ridge@WeaponScientist

This analysis by @ka_grieco is flawed. We expended the majority of interceptors because Israel had already largely depleted their inventory of Arrow and Stunner rounds during 2024 and the Twelve Day War in 2025.

Ice disrupts smooth airflow over the wing surface, reducing lift while increasing drag and stall speed simultaneously. At takeoff, where the aircraft is already operating near critical performance margins, this can trigger asymmetric lift loss, compressor stalls, or a full aerodynamic stall shortly after rotation. The danger is deceptive because the contamination may appear visually minor while producing disproportionately large performance penalties. In some cases, frost only millimeters thick can reduce lift by over 20% and increase drag by 40% or more.

Meanwhile, in Russia, an Airbus A320 crew decided to skip de-icing and let aerodynamic forces do the job. Video from 2012 at Sheremetyevo via svoavia.

Corsair has started using DDR5 memory chips from CXMT in some of its Vengeance RAM kits. These Vengeance DDR5 modules come with 16GB capacity, 6000MT/s speed, and CL36 timings. They run at standard DDR5 voltages between 1.1V and 1.35V. Performance is similar to kits using chips from Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. The modules also support both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP for easy overclocking. CXMT is growing quickly by offering good-quality memory chips at lower prices. The company is already producing faster DDR5 memory rated up to 8000MT/s. Corsair is one of the first major global brands to use CXMT chips in consumer RAM products sold worldwide. Increased production from CXMT could improve supply and help reduce RAM prices over the next few months.

@Zed__Wang @davideneco25320 yeah, but 9700x doesn't use alot of power, the 14900k compete because it was oc to the max and use alot more power, the 250k plus is great all around.

I’m seeing people on my timeline freaking out about CXMT mass-producing DDR5, but seriously, why are you so slow on the news? CXMT already started making DDR5 back in January last year. Firms like TechInsights have already decapped it and everything. I’ve said this over and over again: CXMT is still struggling just to meet domestic demand. Can we please stop with the fantasy that CXMT is suddenly going to flood the market with DDR5 and crash DRAM prices? CXMT is still at least two years away from becoming a real threat.

@MrScience193 @dhe3g They are very good at making things. They are terrible at developing things. The pay there sucks so they have a bad case of brain drain. The majority of the smart ones move to other countries.

This is exactly why I say 9070XT is 2 generation behind. 7900XTX VS 9070XT Intel 285K VS 9950X 112 FPS VS 106 No Rt This is still not apple to apple comparison but you get an idea AMD fucked you over.

@dhe3g China is late to the party, again. The earliest powered bird-like drones date back to the 1960s with the CIA’s Project Aquiline, a covert, bird-shaped reconnaissance vehicle designed for espionage over the Soviet Union.

@facegamefps 1- 7900XTX is the high end of the previous generation and had a much higher price. 2- 9070XT is running FSR 4.1, which is heavier than the FSR 3.1 running on the 7900XTX. 3- The 9070XT is getting 95% of the 7900XTX performance, with a heavier upscaling while drawing less power.

@facegamefps The 7900xtx is a flagship the 9070XT is a mid-range (the top of mid-range but still mid-range). I would expect the older GPU to still be ahead. Just like a 4090 is still ahead of a 5080. It doesn't make the 5080 a bad card. Plus the newer cards still have access to newer tech.

@Grummz PC gaming will soon transition to neural rendering done entirely in data centers. Games will be rendered real time and streamed to you. This may be the last generation of hobbyist PCs with high-end GPUs.

NVIDIA has removed "gaming revenue" from their financial reports. It's now a footnote in their "Edge Computing" section of their filings. Datacenters are the bulk of the report. It's so over, boys.

@JoosyJew Kind of soft word speak... Did the three boys rape the two girls? The sentence doesn't say it. In fact the whole article is missing the word "guilty" or any indication that the court found that the boys actually did the crime.
