One of the telling things about our society at our functions is how we behave around food: 1. People loading more food on their plates than they can finish, and without feeling ashamed of the heaps on their plates 2. The fact that people have to be served, because they don’t know how to share limited resources 3. When given a chance for self service, people serving themselves without any regard to those behind them that might not get. Five pieces of chicken are left in the dish, and someone serves himself three of them (with 20 people behind him) 4. People eating more than they need, just because there is free food 5. People acting impatient as if they would die if they took 10 more minutes before their turn to serve (okulookalooka/ okululunkana) 6. Serving the second time (double) before others get anything, and pretending not to have eaten at all 7. Packing food to take home when some people present haven’t got 8. Catering service providers hiding food. While these habits might seem isolated and only related to food, they ALL vividly manifest themselves when we are in charge of any resources that have to be shared. Think about it. Our biggest problems as a country are around GREED, SELFISHNESS, DISHONESTY, and lack of a sense of SHAME

@erich_mboowa When hooliganism is off the list , fans will come back in numbers , I am a fan but if I come and stones are pelted , tear gas to control rowdy crowds, I can't come back but if there's steady consistent violence free games , people will come back to the stadiums

at 21 km², mbarara airport would be 2x the size of jkia, 2.5x the size of addis, and 20x the size of entebbe with two parallel 5.5 km public runways and a 3.7 km private/vip runway, it would be one of the biggest airports in the world it'd be the first airport in africa to not only exceed a 5 km runway, but to have two parallel ones and if you believe we're buildin' such an airport solely because we're somehow in the middle between south america and asia then, verily, i say unto you with the same confidence that we shall land on mars soon

I’m confused. President Trump gave an interview where he said the US and Israel basically killed about 5 layers of Iranian leadership, including those the US thought could take over after the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Now the Pentagon is worried about exhausting their air defense stockpiles because bombs are raining in on their Middle East assets from all manner of directions and they can’t get a grasp of who is in charge? But isn’t this what people who oppose color revolutions and such interventions keep preaching? That leaving power vacuums might create worse situations than the ones existing prior to the interventions? Anyway, may peace prevail. ✌🏾

The fact that Ugandans were/are not triggered by the unexplained internet shut down says a lot about ‘Ugandans’ Literally everything is on a standstill. Businesses/livelihoods affected but we’re posting memes about VPNs like it’s the new normal. When you’re actually ‘tired’ it’s things like these. Not dead bodies in the streets. Ugandans are happy people

on one hand, we pray and hope that global payment processors like stripe and paypal open shop in uganda to allow us to fully participate in digital monetization and cross-border commerce on the other hand, your corrupt and ignorant uncles and aunts shut down the very internet infrastructure on which these platforms fundamentally depend you cannot preach "digital transformation" while practicin' digital sabotage you cannot demand foreign investment while signalin' that connectivity is a privilege, not a right and you certainly cannot build a digital economy on infrastructure that disappears every election cycle the next day, ura will come askin' for taxes in a space that's sabotaged and suffocated

the thing about shuttin' down the internet is that it never fully returns to normal once the gateways are switched back on some platforms take days, weeks, even months to function properly again this is somethin' the ignorant crooks at ucc never seem to consider
