@BohuslavskaKate @PaulRieckhoff Totally agree with you, but half of Denmark? I think the number might be somewhat higher than that!!!
English

MAHER: Russia's campaigning for Orbán and we're campaigning for Orbán. We're working with Russia on same guy to win election?
RIECKHOFF: We aren't working with Russia. JD Vance and Trump doesn't speak for most Americans on most issues, especially on issues like Ukraine, Putin, and now Orbán.
Viktor Orbán is a bad guy. He is the bad guy to the world. And we are losing support from a lot of people around the world. Canadians no longer trust us. Half of Denmark thinks we're an adversary.
Because our elected leaders, JD Vance and others, are standing with Orbán, seem to favor Putin instead of Zelenskyy, and it's driving the entire world against us. We are picking the wrong side.

@luca83783 @RestIsPolitics @ZelenskyyUa @campbellclaret Luca loadsanumbers from the Bristol suburb of St Petersburg has spoken!
English

Our interview with the President of Ukraine, @ZelenskyyUa, is out now.
In this in-depth conversation, @campbellclaret speaks with Zelenskyy about everything from the personal toll of the war and his daily calls with his mother, to the bigger picture: Putin’s mindset, US involvement, and the shaping of new alliances.
Watch now. Link in replies.

@philchalk @RestIsPolitics @ZelenskyyUa @campbellclaret Amongst the many points you miss, the most probable outcome of ceding land to Russia is that they just regroup and come back for more once they’re stronger.
The war has already consumed Ukraine.
The whole question was sorted diplomatically years ago but Russia broke the deal.
English

@RestIsPolitics @ZelenskyyUa @campbellclaret Zelenskyy would, for entirely "honourable" reasons, drag Europe into a war with Russia, that would quickly consume Ukraine then spread across the rest of the continent. End the war, let Russia keep the occupied land, when all is peaceful, work through grievances via diplomacy.
English

@CensoredSauce @MartinMonmouth @haynesdeborah The facts are somewhat different. Go and research the funding.
I trained and fought alongside your armed forces and have the utmost respect for the USA.
But I have no time for the current administration. What they’ve done to the USA is a true shame.
Sorry you can’t see that.
English

@Obinbobble @MartinMonmouth @haynesdeborah Well, the argument is that we've been funding your war in Ukraine against Russia.
But the fact that you're willing to ignore that blatant reality is proof you are, in fact, delusional. Blinded by your hatred.

English

BREAKING: The UK says its military has exposed a month-long, covert Russian submarine operation in the Atlantic, north of the UK. One attack submarine is thought to have been used as a decoy as a number of “undersea naval units” from the Main Directorate of Deep Sea Research (known as GUGI)!
conducted “nefarious activity over critical undersea infrastructure”
English

@CensoredSauce @MartinMonmouth @haynesdeborah Ahh, no actual arguments so the ad hominem.
So dumb because the countries that win from the recent buffoonery are Russia and China?
Because I’ve listened to what JD has said, acting like a Russian shill in Hungary?
Because you threaten Greenland?
Oh well.
English

@CensoredSauce @MartinMonmouth @haynesdeborah Unfortunately, yes. Therein lies the problem. Sub-threshold. Should we go in guns blazing but with no plan and crash the world economy?
Anyway, they’re your country’s allies, aren’t they? The way POTUS and the Veep have been carrying on, you’re all on the same side now!
English

@Obinbobble @MartinMonmouth @haynesdeborah "Don't worry, they're just mapping our critical infrastructure to destroy later!"
English

@CensoredSauce @MartinMonmouth @haynesdeborah Err. it’s all sub-threshold stuff (no pun intended). That’s the whole point of it - they stay just below the level where it’s reasonable to strike. Nuance not your thing, is it? Maybe look at your own country and check if it’s under attack before criticising anyone else.
English

@Obinbobble @MartinMonmouth @haynesdeborah lmao
So foreign military assets destroying your infrastructure ISN'T an act of war, but destroying them IS.
Holy shit you people are retarded. No wonder Europe's being conquered from within.
English

@MartinMonmouth @haynesdeborah ‘Fired upon’? You mean, ‘start a war with’, because sinking one of their submarines might, just might, be considered an act of war.
English

@haynesdeborah And what exactly would Labour do if the Russians approached the cables, apart from watch? Given this PM I cannot forsee any circumstances where a Russian sub would be fired upon.
English

@orko_8 @aviationarchive It was versatile - you could do both! When iPods came in, you could use those little cassette adaptor things, but the wire from iPod to cassette got trashed quite quickly by the locking mechanism!
English

@aviationarchive I like to think that this is for playing favorite songs of the pilots while attacking Soviet airfields at low altitudes, not for feeding mission data to the avionics system of the aircraft.

English

@CSabatzki @EricIdle It’s definitely morally superior. One is (was) making people laugh at absurdity, the other is trying to sow division, spread hate and misery, possibly just to make money.
There is most certainly a difference in morality.
English

@EricIdle In fairness, you got a lot of money singing about SPAM and slapping someone with a fish. That isn't Einsteinian levels either. And I do like the fucking music. Especially the space song and all. But it's still not morally superior.
English

@annettedittert @LoziCamp Because no one has a clue if his position will be the same or if he will just say the opposite when he next wakes up.
Personally, I’m bored of all the breathless coverage of his every social media post, followed by analysis as if he really means it this time.

I have been wondering all day how on earth the BBC is making this the major news story of today.

@RAF_Luton Are you sure that they’re not just queuing for diesel?
English

@Bbmorg Not to please Putin (because he doesn’t care about anyone but himself), but to appease Putin. Trump is clearly very scared of whatever Putin has on him.
English

@TimothyDSnyder @garside_geoff It’s almost like Trump’s handler told him to start the war.
English

The whole Iran war is looking more and more like a gimmick to drop energy sanctions on Russia and pressure Europeans to do the same. A war to make Russia’s much larger war easier and possible to sustain.
Phillips P. OBrien@PhillipsPOBrien
Worth noting that Donald Trump just announced the end of NATO and the Special Relationship in one tweet.
English

@sflorimm People who can still think for themselves?
Leaders who don’t start wars on a whim?
English

@nafo_sweden Is that Putin’s arse you are pulling all that out of?
Suck it up…
Maybe if you left Ukraine, your refineries would stop exploding.
English

@aakashgupta @MalcolmNance Something is off with your numbers… 1165 gal is approx 5300 litres. So the tank only holds enough for 80 hours?
9600nm using 676800 litres means it took 128 hours… a speed of 75 kts!!!
I agree with your point, but your numbers don’t make any sense. Maybe it’s 1165 litres/hour?
English

Zuckerberg's yacht once sailed 9,600 nautical miles, burned 676,800 liters of diesel, and waited two months in the South Pacific for him to show up.
He never came. It turned around and went home.
The vessel burns 1,165 gallons of diesel per hour at cruising speed. The carbon output of 630 cars running simultaneously. In nine months, it produced 5,300 tons of CO2, what 400 American households emit in an entire year.
Meta's sustainability report pledges net zero across their value chain by 2030. Zuckerberg's personal fleet (there's a $30 million support vessel that follows the yacht everywhere carrying submarines, helicopters, and water toys) produced more emissions on that single empty round trip than most people will generate in a lifetime.
The fuel tank holds 423,700 liters. A full fill costs about $230,000. Based on his 2024 wealth increase, Zuckerberg earns that in under 90 seconds.
Net zero is a line item in someone else's budget. It always was.

Mark Zuckerberg, an outspoken critic of "man-made climate change", shows off his new $300 million, 287-foot mega yacht, powered by four gigantic diesel engines. Yet another stark reminder that Net Zero is only for the peasants
