Thank you for bringing this to our attention I will personally call these members of congress and tell them how OPT has resulted in widespread employment discrimination against US Tech Workers and graduates and how it gives a 15% tax break to students from other countries

Sam has been the most unprofessional person in these discussions. You should see some of the insults and falsehoods he directed at H-1B critics during Trump’s first administration. He’s neither an immigration expert nor an economist well-versed in the subject, yet he tries hard to present himself as one.

The Trump Admin's H-1B weighted lottery rule is prone to being rigged. The new lottery will give the highest paid people in a given occupation more lottery entries. The problem? Employers can reclassify the occupation they're hiring for. A software developer making $130k gets 2 lottery entries. But if the employer classifies that person as a computer systems analyst, they get 3 lottery entries. Keep in mind that OPT functions as a blanket work authorization for foreign students who complete a degree in the United States. In practice, this has encouraged a proliferation of low-tier institutions that operate less as centers of learning than as conduits for immigration benefits. Employers, for their part, receive FICA tax exemptions and face few meaningful wage constraints when hiring OPT workers, who can often be paid very little. The result is a system that tilts away from both educational integrity and the protection of domestic labor standards.

Breaking: An illegal migrant store owner in Oregon has been arrested and charged for laundering MILLIONS of dollars in narcotics trafficking money to Mexico. Jose Alonso Paramo Arguello, 45, a citizen of Mexico, has been accused of using his three businesses to transfer drug money to Mexico — a common tactic used by the terrorist Cartels. He allegedly broke down transactions into smaller amounts and used fake names and addresses for the money senders to conceal the true nature of the funds, court documents state. Arguello is the owner and operator of two Tienda Santa Maria II stores, with one location in Phoenix, Oregon and another in Medford, Oregon. He also owns the Paramos Barber Shop in Central Point, Oregon. Arguello allegedly transferred more than $13 million of drug money through these stores, with transactions as recent as January 2026. A federal judge denied him bail during his arraignment on Wednesday.

Hasan Minhaj decided to do a segment on the H-1B visa issue, even sharing clips from 60 Minutes’ coverage of the scandal involving Americans being fired and having to train their H-1B replacements to receive severance. Instead of sympathizing and presenting a fair assessment from the perspective that this is a labor issue that needs reform, he chose to mock the American workers for being replaced simply because they were… white. He then tried to conflate immigrant tech founders with H-1B workers, even though most immigrant tech founders never used the H-1B visa program. He also falsely frames H-1B visas as being based on ‘merit,’ when in reality the selection process is a random lottery that has little to do with merit. The segment is poorly researched and rather crass in its presentation. He also appears to still be upset about his Netflix show being canceled, as well as the backlash he faced for allegedly misrepresenting the racism he said he experienced growing up in liberal Davis, CA.
